My gun shop told me that Vortex is coming out with a few new reticles. The scope there going in is the Vortex Gen ii Razor HD. I am not sure to believe this or not. I loved my gen ii razor when i had it. The only thing i didnt like about it was open center crosshairs.

The new reticles are supposably the H-59 and tremor 3. I think he said tremor 3. If not the 3 it will be the tremor 2.

If this is true i am buying the h-59 one right away.

I wanted to hear everyone elses insights on this to see if any of you guys herd this? I hope its all true.

So new reticles for the Gen 2, or a Gen 3 with new reticles? I am a bit skeptical of a Horus reticle in a Vortex.

My gen 1 Razor seems so obsolete now lol

Horus reticles have been in Razors before, they just weren't available to the public. The Gen 2 could use an update.

I think there have enough requests to put the EBR-7B in the Razor, and with the introduction of the Razor G2 Echo, I assume and hope that theyll do 4.5-27x56 G2 Echo with EBR-7B.

I can't believe they would do a Horus with all their reticle choices. I also highly doubt they are are going to bring the Tremor 2 over the Tremor 3, almost nobody is doing the T2 now.

I think at this point Vortex is really needs to come out with a new Razor model, and the AMG does not count in my book. It is still a solid scope but there have been so many other innovations by other manufacturers that they are lagging behind. I am not a Vortex fanboy and currently do not own any product but just based off time there have been new technology and models by other companies.

EBR-7B would be a better option. But if there’s a demand for Horus, then please the customers.

I agree with this

Vortex would be smart to release their Razor G2 with an MR4/SKMR3/Mil-C with tree type reticle. I didn't personally like the EBR-7B - way too cluttered/busy around the target.

That being said, I doubt there are that many ppl who are considering a Razor and don't buy it because of the reticle. So maybe more of a personal thing for me than a great business decision for Vortex.

Considering the Razor 2 was the most used scope at the PRS finale this year, not to mention in years prior, the reticle choices are not exactly holding it back. I also think tree reticles are very overrated for PRS, as 99% of the people dial for just about every stage. But then again, all those lines and dots seem to sell scopes.

Wouldn't the money spent chasing the latest and greatest scope be better spent shooting in the wind and from odd positions?

Isn't that how more points are lost in PRS style shooting?

Practice? Pshh. Let's keep trying to buy points LOL.

It's true and just more options for people to get into this excellent optic. Not a bad thing as some may think. Still have the original options as well and the new 7B so having more options is a good thing.

Maybe at the final this year.

I did read the new article on Precision rifle blog about what the pros use for scope. Nightforce won this year with the 7-35 scope and then the vortex gen ii 4.5-27x56 won second and the the Kahles with 5-25 scope.

I heard the 7-35 glass is suppose to be far superior to NF 5-25 I wish I owned one so I could compare it to the Kahles 525i

I wonder if there will be a markup for the Horus as there are with other brands. One would think so.

It’s not really marking up if Horus charges a fee. In this case, the customer pays the fee.

Rob will there be a new lighter razor at this years shot? Or any new razor be it Gen II or AMG?

Not sure. Looking forward to checking out the SHOT booth in a few weeks.

4-27 gen 2 inbound on the equipment exchange for crazy low prices ?

I can't see ever getting rid of mine. Does everything I need it to, and since its a range gun, the weight doesn't bother me. If anything it tames the recoil of my .308 ;)

By all means if thats what people want but if you ask me vortex’s grid reticles are far better than anything Horus has ever come up with.
Bring out E versions of all their G2 scopes like the 1-6 and put them on a diet.

The new vortex grid reticle showing up here is going to be the draw, that’s whats going to make people sell their old ones. People love .2 subtensions.

Nice, they finally moved the numbers to the outside of the tree!

Obviously Horus will have a premium.

Once the dust and initial buying storm clears, if this new reticle is priced in line with current ebr2c prices, I’ll probably grab one. If it’s around $2500, I’d just stick with kahles.

I’m also assuming since they released these reticles before shot, they have some sort of optic announcement saved for the show.
