A, B, & C (1938-1958) were ww2, as were K. K was developed as a "2400ish" calorie less bulky pocket meal, first issued to paratroopers and tankers, but failed to provide enough energy.
C went through at least two variants up to around 1958 when, Meal, Combat, Individual came out. MCI was still called c-rats through RVN. Theres more detail available but, that's the generality.
My Dad absolutely hated the K rations.... during the Battle of the Bulge, they cooked a couple of days dead artillery killed horse , said it was better than K rations..

Gotta agree that the fookin tuna with noodles was the worst. Well, maybe the first version that had chicken a la king. That shit smelled and looked like vomit.
Mine came with P-38s. You must have had the 2.0 versions.
C-rations were indeed WWII issue. The dates on the boxes of the meals that I ate were 1944 and 1945! And that was in 1976-1979 when I ate them.

Actually, the ham slice and dehydrated pork party MREs were my favorites at that time. I detested the chicken a la king and the ham& chicken frankenfood entrees, however.

I think the best part is that the guy in the AEC shirt is covering part of the sign, making it say "Plan B". Not the version I have heard of, but it could be effective.

Newer rats are better tasting, the surplus ones I have tried, no smokes though.

I agree that his methods are brutal, but brutality was called for in this instance. The endless droning about "rations" is no less brutal.
Let's just agree to mutually assured destruction and move forward like nothing happened.
In an effort to sow peace, I will post something that motivates me. Sure it doesn't have tits, but tits are just trouble anyway.
