So I bought a lightly used axiom barreled action from a member here. Good deal and as described. I had a cg Jackson to put on it, so all was good. It pinned on fine, dry fire was great, but when I went to open the bolt it wouldn't. Pretty well felt like a win70, tikka, or ai with the safety engaged. Bolt handle would lift a smidge and then nothing. I had to drop trigger off to open bolt.

Called curtis custom, chase answered right away, and described my problem. Good guy, but informed me sear height was too tall. Let me know they tested with bix n Andy, triggertech, Jewell, and timney. Recommended a b n a if I was set on a 2 stage, or call xtreme. I talked to Tom Myers at xtreme next, he wasnt aware of this problem and they of course hadn't tried their trigger on a curtis. Tom was a great guy also, he is surface grinding 3 or 4 sears, incrementally shorter, and sending me those and a few extra pins for free. If those dont work he said plan b is next, lol.

I've used this trigger on a couple different rem700s and a bighorn tl3. This shouldn't be taken as a slight against curtis or xtreme, just a case of 2 parts that dont work with each other and a friendly PSA. Both companies have been good with this, finding the issue and hopefully getting it lined out. I really like cg Jackson triggers, and hope Tom can get me lined out, if not I guess I'll pick up a bix n Andy for it. Chase did suggest if I go bix n Andy, to call bulletcentral.com, as they are familiar with which sear height is required with a curtis.

I had a similar/opposite issue with my CG and a Defiance tube gun action.
I bought all the components used and when I put it all together the gun would only stay clocked 50% of the time. It actually needed a longer/taller sear. When I spoke to Tom at CG he knew the issue as soon as I said it was a Defiance action.
Sent the trigger back it shipped back to me the next day repaired for free and working perfectly.... About 2000 rounds later and no issues.

I ended up selling the cg Jackson with a 6br barreled action on the equipment exchange here. I mentioned my problems to buyer and he said he'd buy the trigger, so I sold it. Picked up a 2 stage tacsport pro b n a and all is good. I'd sold the trigger a week ago, and completely forgot about Sears, which never showed up, until I saw this thread.

Just to clarify I believe that Tom told me this issue was specific to the now discontinued Defiance tube gun action (mutant?)

The Mutant was designed to fit the Eliseo RTM/RTS chassis system, so issues may have arisen with particular triggers. We no longer really make the Mutant, so it's somewhat a mute point now, but you shouldn't have any issues with our other actions.

Thanks for the clarification @Defiance Machine
I didn't intend to negatively represent either product.... I love my Eliseo / Defiance tube gun. I'm actually planning to get another bolt to build a 223 as well (using the same action)
