I used to have a 45 pound female, red nosed pit bull. She could get out over the top of my 6 foot fence if she wanted. She did it once just after I finished building the fence. I let her know that she was not to climb out over the fence and she never did it again. But clearing something like the barrier between your kitchen and the rest of the house would have been an easy hop for her. RIP, Stella. She was a good dog, except for her thing with cats.

oh, I know they can. I own several pitbulls currently. I came home from work once and found my wifes 60lber on the roof of my garage!

But the pit in the picture could climb over it...not jump..he have nerve damage from fighting and also a broken front ankle that was allowed to heal crooked by his former dog fighting owner...he can NOT jump

I recently had a tragedy strike and sadness pushed me to adopt a puppy for the first time since I was a child. This is Luna. She is a half German Shepherd and half Siberian Husky. She’s about 11 weeks old and is the sweetest and most well-behaved puppy I’ve ever seen.

She does have pretty severe separation anxiety when I leave, but she’s doing better every day. She loves to systematically hunt and eat every cricket she can find during our nighttime potty breaks.

I'm a firm believer in doing your research on exactly what you want, and then going and buying your dog from a breeder (large or small) or someone you know.
(Not that if you happen to find a dog at a "shelter" and want to purchase it, there is anything wrong with that, if you don't get stuck in a place that demands all the BS and restrictions that are often piled on by the same SJW idiots that wonder why people don't "adopt").

The third photo of your dog really got me feeling: Awww....it is a wonderful expression in his face that says a lot.. and all of it positive. It looks like you are going to have a fabulous dog, and once he gets out of his puppy phase, and is more able to concentrate, he will be really easy to train. You are both fortunate to have each other.

man I just found this thread and I'm loving all the pictures and stories. My wife runs a dog boarding business and a dog rescue so there are always dozens of dogs around my house, but I have a great pyranees and a pit/bulldog mix that are mine. This is how my girl Snickers likes to ride in the car...

I wish I had enough money to quit my job and open a dog shelter. All these stories are so fantastic, I just wish I could help all the dogs that need it.

Continuing from post #403, here is Luna at 18 weeks. She has grown from 13 to 45 lbs. Her temperament is still fantastic and she has had zero in-house accidents in the past 6 weeks.

Yes, but has yours had its neck slashed open several times and had all its eyebrows and eyeballs ripped out? ?

She loves the thing but during her early teething, she ripped it apart almost daily and I had to keep stitching it back up. I actually bought her a second one thinking the first would be a goner any day but the second is still new in a bag now. She just loves on it and has stopped trying to destroy it.

She is so spoiled, I’m pretty sure she has more toys than I had by age 12!

Yeah i think those toys all end the same, we have two and the first has been sewn and stuffed half a dozen times from being left out and grabbed by random rescue dogs. The second is now only brought out when rocky is by himself... he just walks around with it in his mouth or cuddles it, but that’s what you get from an 11 year old boxer.
Amen to the number of toys, we have a toy box that is an old steamer trunk and it’s full. Worst part is, unlike a child it’s all but impossible to get the puppies to pick up after themselves. That being said, rescuing puppies and seeing them happy is worth the messes.

omen. back in 60s-80s a lot of people named their rottweilers omen. just got pics of pics. he's been gone 21 yr and i still miss him. having him around and with me got me thru some rough times. he had a monster bite and is shown to be quite vicious.
