After carful consideration I have revised my quote....

Sell me a fucking rifle already.

It’s been warm in the north east this year...can shoot comfortably outside.

Pew pew pew is close!
Who’s gonna be the first SH’r with one?

Hi,

Might as well be upfront and public about that too, lol....to continue the line of transparency of Hoplite Arms.

We intend to ship the first Sentinel stocked rifle to @Dthomas3523 for him to put his hands on it and give it a whirl. If he likes he can purchase, if not he can ship it back.

We intend to ship some of the first Doru chassis rifles to @TacticalDillhole @b6graham and few others so they can put hands on it and give them a whirl.

This will happen within the next couple of weeks, so those that are tagged and those that are in PM, please send me your FFL information.

All BEFORE we take any customer funds.

Hi,

In the melting furnace where it belongs....No Losers allowed in here, lololololololol
Before anyone gets snowflaked feelings on that comment.....me and Dewey are good.

Sincerely,
Theis

Don’t get ban cat riled up before you sell one rifle lol

Hi,

That would be a no.
You do realize that a Sentinel stock alone is right over $1200?
We are not competing with RPR market......There are lots of decent rifles in that cost bracket for that intended market to pick from; We at Hoplite Arms will not be joining that market circle by DESIGN and PURPOSE.

Sincerely,
Theis
I would call the RPR market a sub 2k.

So your weapon systems are for a connoisseur appetite. Just wanted to know where I would have to be to get in the door.

If I can't afford a $2500 optic, then I certainly can't afford the system to mount it to.

Optics wise... I think we all got crazy

Used NF for 1000 will do the job just fine.

I can guarantee that I missed a lot more shots because of me and ballistics more than last generations glass.

Now the higher pressure we’re talking about on this thread is worth the price of admission.

I’d rather shoot a rifle capable of superior ballistics than upgrading glass.

Just my opinion.

Forest green or cobalt blue?

Hi,

I will have to check on that.

Sincerely,
Theis

This thread makes me reconsider build plans for a rifle until this comes to market.

@THEIS

Any idea on the weight of the short action rifles in the chassis and Sentinel?

Hi,

I will weigh that for you when I get barrels threaded on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Sincerely,
Theis

I am in agreement. I am anxious to see how the barrel life issue is solved shooting these High Pressure rounds.

May take a few years, but it is the next logical step.

I think your [email protected] email may not be working.
It seems to be bouncing back messages.

Hi,

Seems to be working now. The email server gremlins might have chewed a wire or something.
With the way some of the things have been going on here the past few weeks; I would welcome something such as that, haha.

Sincerely,
Theis

I hadnt planned on going to SHOT this year, but turns out I will be in Vegas on the 24th if anyone is still around and not totally dead or sick with the funk.

Hi,

I will not be around, lol...I am back to the office on the 23rd.

Theis

Great!! Already have plans to meet with him to discuss some other things :)

@THEIS The guys from Dawson Knives got your booth number & if they are not swamped, you might get a visit from them.

I’m sure I missed this, but for SA, will it use AW mags or do you have some proprietary mags?

Also, I have a 6gt reamer I can loan you if you want to chamber any of the first rifles for the homofeline.

Wow!!! This has to be the first product I would not be concerned about being an early adopter!

Hi,

Thank you for such compliment!!

Since I always get asked different questions in this thread, lol...may I ask you a question?

For my curiosity can you PM me what reason(s) you personally have used to come to that comment/decision?

Sincerely,
Theis

The openness and transparency.

Its hard to have doubts about a products release when someone is doing everything they can to relieve any doubt about it.

PM sent. The short answer is my first high end scope was an early Premier Heritage took multiple trips back to HQ for issues. They finally fixed it but the experience left me jaded.

I will spend the whole week in vegas. I might be wandering at the show still on 24th if I didn’t already get into too much trouble with all the gambling and drinking that has to be carried out too.

And it’s rare for a manufacturer to bring the customer along the build journey. Seeing Hoplite’s due diligence is highly appreciated and welcomed.

Love the transparency and being brought along for the journey (starting long before this thread). The amount of thought, diligence and testing really stand out vs the rushed to market products we're used to getting.... but...

Call me 'jaded' and/or your 'typical garden variety skeptic', but reliable triggers have proven far more difficult for this industry to execute properly than actions. If you don't mind can we revisit the Hoplite trigger as mentioned last in post #92 (see below quote)?

Not M700 but adjustable from 1.5 to 4 pounds.
How did that "Comp" grade trigger work out for AI in the ASR testing lolol.......

Sincerely,
Theis

Are you able to elaborate on "Not M700"? Specs/features/pull graphs/etc?

Hi,

@goosed
Triggers, Triggers, Triggers..LOLOL...they sure do cause a lot of "triggered" reactions ;).

We did not attempt to reinvent the trigger wheel at all. We purposely sought out a trigger design that we felt paired with our thought concept of the receiver and built the receiver to function with that trigger.

I personally hate roll pins in anything, especially when installing a trigger..so that ruled lots of designs out.

All Hoplite Arms rifles utilize the Timney Howa 1500 trigger.
Single screw mount.
Easy weight adjustment.
Effective safety mechanism.
Proven sear engagement design.

Sincerely,
Theis

nothing better then when you remove a action from a stock or chassis and see a trigger pin working itself out

Hi Theis,

I thought the trigger attachment looked familiar many pages ago. :)
Love my Howa's.

A possibly stupid question for you,
Running higher pressures with faster velocities in the standard cartridges do we need to think about different twist rates to get the best from them ?

PS
I've been lurking for years here & finally signed up.

Hopefully some of your rifles will make it to Australia for us to get our hands on.

Thanks
Drew M

Fingers crossed.
If not my go to dealer imports a lot, so shouldn't be a problem when the time comes.
It will take a bit of time to save my penny's yet.

Thanks

As we all know the color can have a tremendous effect on how dangerous a firearm can be. I wonder if the coating is available in an even more media friendly color? Say pink. Would not look so aggressive and dangerous to an untrained eye.

all joking aside though, i am getting tired of shooting green or tan rifles

i think im going for a little splash of color

might do the copper with some black tiger stripes, or green with orange and call it "Battle Cat"
