Hopefully in a few months when the ZCO 5x27's with the MPCT3 reticle are released to vendors...I'll have one from @CSTactical with a base Cerakote of FDE mounted in a Spuhr mount with an additional 20MOA cant and some nice Tenebraex covers.
That’s a seriously beautiful rifle except that silly twisted barrel fluting.
:)
I generally am not into camo jobs but that really looks professional and clean.

OK, some way cool 'gun porn' here. Hafejd30, love the GAP 300WM. Also digging b2lee's spiral fluted Bartliein barrel on the MDT chassis. That is so cool lookin'

I'm pretty new here. I'm a many year tactical shooter who, as Ive gotten older and more grey has just gotten tired of paying good money to be diving out of car windows into gravel while some a'hole shouts 'get back in the fight' after intentionally inducing some malfunction in my weapon. So I've taken up the more 'zen like' meditiative art of Long Range shooting.

I started with a 338 Lapua gas gun. Only because I soon was not going to be able to buy now in the state I live in. Long story short, that doesn't work too well as a precision rifle.

Being a lefty, Id never owned a bolt gun in my life. Yeah I know there plenty of folks that make 'em. Just never looked at or handled one and just got that' must have one' vibe. Then I saw this pretty new JP product. And they made a left handed one. Well, after doing a whole bunch of work on my girlfriend's parent's house, she up an offered to buy me my first, fully left handed bolt gun. I had to buy the bipod though. The glass and mount came of off the aforementioned 338LM gas gun.

I know there's plenty of folks who 'build their own' on here. But I'm not 'that guy'. Someone once said, 'a man has got to know his limitations'. I'm just not a build it yourself guy. I have neither the knowledge, skills, nor the proper tools to do that. Given my vocational predisposition toward well designed, well made things I'm more of the, buy one complete (US made!) rifle from one high quality manufacturer and maintain it well thinking

This is also a new caliber for me 6.5CM. I'm on my way to my first training with this rifle in about three weeks now. Gettin' schooled hard here. Sill pretty new to the LR Shooting art/practice. But doing my best.

Well...I know most people do fluting for aesthetics....or weight reduction....but my initial thinking was to increase surface area to help in cooling. I was going to do straight fluting...but decided to match the pattern of the fluted bolt.

Built this guy on somewhat of a budget. Started out with a 5r milspec 308 I got a few years ago, it had a leupold 4.5-14 LRP on it with the factory HS stock and bottom metal. Sold the scope and stock and bought a USO ST10 and a Mcree G5 folding chassis for about $100 more than what I sold the original parts for. Pretty happy with how this turned out!

Just finished the rifle up:
18” 7-08 stiller action Brux barrel
Manners EH2 with mini chassis
APA .856 rings
Custom AAC Silencer (SPR/M4 tube with cyclone baffles)
Hensoldt 4-16x56 FF LT H59

This is my Ruger Precision .308. I've had the rifle for 2 years and love it. Had I known better I would have gone with 6.5CM and an MRAD reticle, but oh well, maybe next time. I've done 5 matches with it so far and have about 1k rounds through it.

I guess I didn't scroll in enough. I have a nice 1968 Winchester 1894 in 30/30 that I just acquired......for an Norinco SKS....I think I won that trade.

Any pics?

I would make that trade all day, everyday. Very nice.

And I finally get to post my rifle
Zack at old dominion custom rifles absolutely gave me everything I asked for and built me a bad ass rig

Here’s how it specs out

6.5prc

Spuhr Mount
Apa little bastard
Krieger 26” m24 contour

Also to note...anyone that posts a rifle with a ZCO scope on top...I won't be able to see the rifle...because I'll be drooling over the scope. Mine in a MPCT3 reticle is still MONTHS away. It's like when you see a sports car pic with a big chested woman on top....I couldn't tell you what kind of car it was if you asked.

@spife7980 what caliber is that on the MDT? And have you thought about the external and internal weights?
6 dasher and yeah I’ve thought about it but no way am I gonna pay for them lol

Look at the spigot mount on yours vs. mine. Do you see it? :geek:

Never mind, they are the same. Are ours the early version? They have mounting holes vs. the current ones available on KRG's website do not.
It sure but I know they have a normal like ours, and arca and a minimalist.

The minimalist is just the stud, the arca cut goes up too high for the additional side mount plates.

I can finally contribute! Nothing special, just an aac-sd in 6.5 cm in a Grayboe Renegade that I sponge camo’d with Aervoe OD and Field Drab( btw the closest to usmc coyote brown I’ve found) to blend in to the central NC pines I hunt in. Scope is a gen 1 Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15 I picked up from Cameraland on Warne rings and bases. I’m looking forward to taking classes at Frontline and TRC and hopefully get into some matches down the road.

Thank you! It's just Krylon camo spray paint. Tan base, old bootcamp laundry bag used for a pattern, OD green for the contrast. I used a base layer of peel coat paint on the scope so I can take it off easily if I want to.

I'm really digging that camo/color scheme.

yea...it's a really nice 'copperhead' paint scheme....just don't lay it down in a bed of snakes and you'll be ok.

Thanks! It was stupid easy to do. I liked the Manners Black Forest camo but didn't have Manners money and I wanted less black showing... just enough to show contrast between the 2 colors. I spent wayy more time deciding between Aervoe colors than I did doing the actual painting. I did screw up when painting the barreled action and touched it before it was dry but it's hard to see in the picture and I was more concerned with rust protection than looks.

Some of these rifles look like 'Modeling Rifles'....they spend all day posing in front of the camera...but do they get any serious work done? They are beautiful....and I do get jealous. I think the big thing for me....is I can't take a good picture to save my life.
