You guys pouting about people selling these scopes at a profit kill me. If I bought a AXMC for $1 does that mean it's worth $1 when I sell it? Swap your tampons and start calling local Cabelas stores within 200 miles in any direction or pay reasonable market price. It is what it is.
Totally agree... Some people get luck now and then and whoever buys one can sell it for as much as they want for it. Shame on them for being in the right place at the right time. LOL

noted maybe i will exploit the hide next time i find a deal instead of letting people know.

there is a balance on both sides, doesn't affect me, i can decide my own cost benefit and choose to pay their price or not, the market will tell them if they are asking to much or not.

cheers

So by selling at market price on a public forum they're exploiting the hide? If you have more than one rifle I'd like to come by and pick one up. Sounds like you're feeling the Bern.

I’m gonna one up all you guys...... I just spent my fun money on a strike Eagle 5-20, and a mount! Totally wasted!!!!! FML!! To guys that got in on these? Enjoy, you lucky fuckers!!!!

My apologies if anyone got offended. Made a post that I’d picked up a couple of VX6. I was asked in a pm if I’d sell which I replied sure for $1100. I have a receipt showing I paid $940 and with shipping that leaves less than $140 profit—hardly gouging.

Just setting the record straight.
Don’t apologize. People are just being cry babies because they didn’t get the deal. If you were asking $1500 I could see the concern but your time has to be worth something. I saw some guys drove 3-4 hours and waited in line. Doesn’t make sense to sell them for $100 Over what you paid. Shipping insured will cost about $60-70 bucks

There should be no concern. I bought a bunch of USMC return stocks and sold them for very close to what I paid around ($400 if I remember correctly) and a Month later people were selling them for $1000 or more including at least 2 people I sold them to. One friend I sold to for cost and he recently sold for $1500. Taught me a lesson. This is America.. If you get a great opportunity to buy a scope, car, house, boat whatever.... cheap.. You Don't need to let someone else capitalize of your luck. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy a scope and nobody NEEDS a scope. It ain't like they are selling food at an inflated price boys..

Lot of self entitlement going on here now. No one here "needs" any of this hobby addiction we have. It's all a "want".

For those of you who took time off of work and made a 4hr round trip like I did, to benefit yourselves, good for you. First come first serve. Sell them for what YOU want out of it, it's yours. If someone doesnt like the price, move on.

It's no different than someone picking up a free $1500 chassis off a prize table and selling it for $1000 monday morning and people complain that's unfair. Who cares what they paid for it, its THIERS.

let me clarify, i have no issue with people making a reasonable, or unreasonable amount if they find the right sucker. hell my little brother made 100 of me and 200 off the other guy on here he bought one for.

as i said before ultimately the market will decide if the price is right.

i think were see things pretty close despite what it may seem.

It’s just capitalism.

I’m happy I got some great scopes for a great price. If I ever unload the Mark 5 I bought it will be because my financial situation changed or I just plain old didn’t need it. I’m not going to gouge anyone if I do, but I’m not going to sellout my own needs to help some dude I don’t know.

*and I say all that wishing I could sell you guys all one of these at $899 plus shipping. But that’s just not how life is.

Yep I've tried that. I get three clicks down, about 16 mils up. And it stops rock solid. I'm going to get ahold of Leupold CS and see if I'm missing something. What has everyone else experienced for total travel out of the box?
Pull the turret off (loosen the two set screws) and use a screw driver to turn the elevation all the way down. At that point you should have full travel when the turret goes back on. Mine does 27 mils out of the box. My guess would be someone screwed with the zero stop on yours. Sorry if I've misunderstood and you tried this already.

I guess I'm in the wrong.. I apologize, I've just been the guy to sell things at good prices to people that need something. Offer to help" even guys on the internet I dont know". I bought a guide license to buy tags for veterans.. just the guy I am.

@dspjaggar - Thank you for the heads up on these. I'd been eying these and Burris XTR3 for a while hoping for a deal. I snagged 2 Mark 5's tax free in Delaware Sat.
First went on a DPMS 308 I just finished rebuilding. Mark 5 replaced an Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15
Second will be going on 25 Creed Tika KRG Xray.

Nope you’re not in the wrong. Do I think people should buy every scope they have if they are close to a cabelas, no. But if you make 300 bucks off of two scopes and drove a few hours I say it’s worth your time. My time is valuable. Price gouging and being greedy is not okay but covering your time and getting a deal is fine by me.

Now if we could get a few more hide members to email Scalerworks like I did today.
Ask them to make 20 & 30 moa 35mm mounts. As popular as Mark 5's are on gas guns it should be a no brainier for them!

Their mounts are badass and light, hell they even have a pic of what appears to be Mark 5 on their sight, but 35mm is not listed.

Hook a dude up with some tags though lol
Not sure if you were referencing the mount? It's a Sika deer (Japaneese Elk), no tags needed. Open during White tail season here in MD. That mount is about as big as they get. Think he was about 90lbs, very tasty :).

Thats the 34mm MK6.

I would love one of these if someone has an extra.... !!! They sold out in oregon real fast. One guy walked out with 5.... I would take a mark 5 3-18 or the vx6 for my rum.... prefer the mark 5 if someone could spare one

That is an asshole move, just like the trolls that hit up every Walmart and academy daily to buy up the .22 to resell

Just curious, what height rings are people running to just clear the barrel? I have a Tikka T3 Varmint with 0 MOA Leupold base for reference... Hoping to get it as low as possible without dealing with returns/exchanges!
As low as you can possibly get. I run arc m10 lows (0.94") with a 20 moa base on my tikkas. ( mark 5s with 56 mm objectives) and they still clear with sendero contour barrels. Hawkins makes a .88" and I believe there is a company that makes an extra low but I cant remember who.

Nothing wrong with being a good guy. Everyone has a different conscience but if someone want to try and get as much $ as they can for an item no matter what they paid for it....you can't chide them for that. If people here are pissed at that then DON"T offer to buy the item.

Do you know if there are any left at the CO Springs Bass Pro?
Their website seemed to be pretty up to date. It showed up as out of stock a couple hours after I left. I called down there before I trusted the website to confirm if they had any to avoid a long drive for nothing.

I just like to say to all the people that got a a hell of a deal that is f#&$ awesome. Love it when you get a steal like that makes your whole day and do whatever you want with it sell keep trade it’s your business. Please it’s enough of bashing someone who got them and trying to sell for more or what they got into it.

came across a post on a facebook group a guy scored this. doesnt reflect online but if you are near a cabelas may be worth checking out if in the market
Thanks for posting. Just scored one for myself!

Any other examples? First time I’ve seen a deal like that at cabelas...

I bought a pile of vortex razor spotters like 18 of them for $300 or less Nov 2018. I also grabbed some Leica and Zeiss stuff in that deal but just ones and twos.
They did a blow out on RMR's both type 1 and then type 2.

I don't have any current examples. But if i did--I wouldn't be inclined to share them either...

None left in stock at Rancho Cucamunga Bass Pro. I called and put the last one on hold for pickup today and grabbed it this morning.

nice, had a guy go down there for one for himself on Saturday and he decided he was not down to wait in the ridiculous line.
