Well if that’s the case I will just be returning this one to that store. I was told sale was until the 19th of July...

Depends what you're running it on. Personally I'd say no way - it's so compact without it!
Do people use sunshades cuz they come with scopes? Cuz they think it looks more “operator”?
I have owned Kahles, Nightforce, Vortex, ZCO, and Leupold and I just haven’t found a reason to keep them on my scope. Now I do use scope caps on my rifles for dust protection as well as drop protection. Maybe I don’t shoot enough into sun to see the benefits or maybe I just need to play with one at the range to see if I can tell a difference.
Dial is the bomb, my go to for sure. Managed to clean 75w-90 hypoid gear oil off of me many times, and that is saying something for those who know how nasty that oil is.
I don't typically like sunshades, but I installed it as shown post #290. For scale that is an 18" barrel.
This is a new build with new optic. I'll be shooting at the short 50-300 range Friday & it faces directly into the sun. Since reticle is not illuminated I'd rather have it and not need it.
The Mark 5 in shorty form is much sexier IMO, but even with shade installed it's not that long.

So this is how to get online matched to instore.
Buy online. Go pickup in store. Go to customer service. Tell them you messed up and need to put it on a different credit card. Say “wife” “furious” “in trouble”. They will return it. Then will ask for the new card. When they rescan it they will call for the manager. Because now its a LOT cheaper.
When the manager shows up if they give you a hard time tell them its on sale in store. Seems to be bs that I should have to pay more than the sale price. Often times the manager wont say anything and will already be hip to whats happening. Be prepared for eat dog shit looks.
This is easier if you live near a second store. Then you bring it to that one and talk shit about how the first store ripped you off by ignoring the sale price.

Yeah I think that is my issue. The Mk5 are not in stock anymore. The other issue is that my local store got hit hard, all the scope are sold, and a few people were able to get them to ship some scopes for the same price even though they were supposed to be in stock in the store. Not sure how they will treat me, I will need to see if it rings up for less somewhere have have them price match...

Well sounds like I don’t have much hope to return mine for the sale price then. I was hoping it might work and now their inventory is gone so I guess they will end up putting this out at full price for someone to try to buy...
On another note this is exactly why I don’t like Cabelas anymore. They have gone down in quality even more with the Bass Pro acquisition. I don’t care for any of the Bass Pro stuff and I feel like the Bass Pro identify and cultural do not fit in the Northwest.

I think that's the direction I'll go. I would have definitely found a way to gather my chips if I lived close enough to one of these screaming deals though. My closest store is too far away for me to skip in to during the sale
Good to know. Thanks for the info Brian. I heard they are supposedly coming out with a new scope around the specs of the aforementioned but improved in some form or fashion. Hoping to hear good things. Also trying to figure out what objective I want. I want a tiny magic scope with all the light of the 56. The AMG might be my tweener choice, but i heard the march 52 was preferred by many too...

Friday, recieved scopes yesterday.
Just had to have manager ok it and do a manual card transaction over the phone.
Update. I took the scope I bought full price online on Saturday to my local Cabelas in Boise. Told them I hears about the sale, showed him a picture from another store about the sale ending on the 19th. He ended up talking to someone and came back and said they would honor the sale price. I didn’t complain and thanked them for helping me out.
Let's hope that works. I just ordered one online and will try this approach.
If it doesn't work, there will be 1 in stock locally!
I don’t know, just saw it posted earlier in this thread so saved it to my phone and told them it was sent to me by someone at another Cabela’s location. He told me the sale ended on the 30th and I told him it says the 19th. He talked to someone else and came back and said he would honor the sale.
