Help me hoard high end rifles before elections

Good morning gents,

I’m a new member here, based in Las Vegas.
I’ve done a lot of reading on this website and have found it to be the most well informed and intelligent when it comes to rifles. Many of the selections you will see below have been based on your input...

Recently, I’ve gone on a buying spree for AR-15 and AR-10’s, due to the possibility of a Democratic government passing legislation and banning the manufacture of new, high capacity firearms.
To better explain:
I think the next psycho (that is currently locked up in his house due to Covid) who does a mass shooting will trigger a large protest, much like the George Floyd protests. The unemployed and the young have more time now, and hot button issues seem to be even hotter right now, with everyone on edge and/or bored. Of course, this is all speculation, but based on the direction things are going... I think there’s a good chance we’ll see it.
I’m stockpiling for my kids and their kids ... my kids are 2 and 5, so many of these guns will remain in their boxes with the tags on. seriously!
Trying to get as many as possible before November...
Money isn’t an object... I mainly want high quality, reliable rifles that will always retain their resale value and have great customer service.
Is there anything else I should consider for purchase? Or just get multiple of the same?
I’m likely looking to add one or two more...

EDIT: Well, I just placed an order for Radian Model 1 in 16' barrel, .223 Wylde. OD Green. Will compliment my other sons Zev Tech. Can't have them fighting over who gets the better gun, so they'll both get a good one hahaha. On to the next one! I think the focus will now be PCC and PDW types

Also ordered a Larue PredatOBR 16 inch barrel. Maybe I'll get it before I'm an old man. Now I Just need a 300 blackout... will save a 9mm PCC for another time.
Anybody have experience with a Honey Badger or Ghetto Blaster? And/or know where to get one? Gunbroker is price gouging.

So far, here’s what I’ve bought:
1 KAC SR-15
1 Zev Tech AR-15 Billet 223
2 POF Renegade Plus- 300 blackout
1 Battle Arms Silent Professional- 300 blackout
1 JP LRI20
2 Wilson Combat Ultralight Ranger

These rifles are meant to be all purpose “battle rifles”... precision combined with durability. So Something like Tavor or bolt action isn’t an option for me.

This isn’t meant as an obnoxious post... I respect the expertise in these rooms and am fairy inexperienced. I want to buy once and cry once, especially with the time crunch factor.

btw, since some of you probably won’t believe it, here’s a picture of us with their POF Renegade, designated for them. (It’s now locked away in storage.the wilson rangers for them are currently in production.)
And guess who took the picture lol?
bet you never saw a Jewboy with a pic like this.

Don't know if you read buckshot Biden's gun grab proposal, his platform calls for complete confiscation,no grandfathering. If you bought it through a ffl, they know it. So if Biden gets in, it's just the beginning no of a whole new country.

I did read the proposal and didn’t see anything about confiscation; can you send me the source? That would be a declaration of war, I don’t think he’d have the balls to do it.

It doesn’t exist. His proposal is to require NFA registration of existing firearms falling into various categories, along with various prohibition on new production.

This kind of dishonest information either through ignorance or willful deception is what has killed the public perception of many gun owners; everyone sounds like a nutcase spouting lies that they are parroting from whatever random garbage news sites or stations they read or watch.

There’s no need to exaggerate the measures outlined, in writing, on Biden’s site, and it doesn’t help the cause. What happened to legitimate discourse and fact-based argument? There are plenty of areas to poke holes with the proposed legislation, without making up trash. Might as well be apes slinging crap at this point.

Sorry for the slight derail but the absolute garbage being spewed is ridiculous. You’re doing the right thing in what you are preparing for, because like it or not, even if not this year, tighter gun control laws are coming and it will be harder and more expensive in the future to secure new firearms and accessories, especially of the vilified types common in the news. Keep up the good work and as they say, better late than never!

I'd be looking at Colt, Civilian arms, Springfield Armory and the like and of course many other's. Sako 300 WM is an awesome bolt action out of the box 1000 yard plus rifle. XDM pistols, Sig, Colt, Wilson Combat, so much nice stuff out there, so much more than I have time to write. Congratulations on your collecting! Them boys will do dad proud!

Have you looked at the Barrett semi-autos? They’re less popular but use available parts. I have a REC-10 AR-10 and it is a no BS do or die fighting gun. It’s not that comfortable even with a brake, it’s got gas and it’s made to run dirty. Even with a chromed barrel it’s a sub MOA gun and very well made, fully ambidextrous. Their REC-7 (reliability enhanced carbine, their variant of an AR-15) is held in good regard and comes in both piston and DI models.

If I wasn’t buying the REC-10 I’d grab an LMT or SR-25 if I wanted an AR-10.

Pistol Caliber Carbines are cool for competition and for shooting a TON of ammo to save on costs of rifle ammo. Otherwise, PCC’s fall short in every functional category when compared to rifles. If I wanted a tiny concealable fighting gun I’d grab a Sig Rattler and enjoy all its wonderful glory. You can buy a belt holster from ANR Designs and carry it under your shoulder.

I think BCM is a great option for a no-frills, well made fighting gun. Nothing too special, but well made and reliable. I really like mine.

Just another perspective - having a few rifles is certainly not a bad thing, so I'd have a few for your various needs and enough to outfit your family. If you have AR-15/AR-10 type rifles, purchase replacement parts for them. Barrels will eventually need to be replaced, stock a few replacement triggers, bolt stops frequently break on large frame ARs, etc. Rifles now days are very easy to work on at home and if you truly are planning on preparing for a scenario where they are prohibited, I think having the tools and skills to service them will be just as important. After you have enough rifles for yourself and them fam, I'd look into training, ammo, and replacement parts/tools.

Over the years I'll stock up some spare parts and designate them as replacements, but once I notice how many key parts I have, I float the idea of using them to put together another rifle. Eventually I always cave. "Two is one, and one is none," right?

Who knows what will actually happen? If you look at what they tried to do in Virginia (and where somewhat successful) this year, they tried to ban the vast majority of guns, pistols included. There was no grandfather clause in it. The impression left by the wording of their bills was that you could keep anything you had, but you could not possess it outside of your home, meaning you had no way to legally get it to the range or take it anywhere. They made transporting it the crime, not owning it. They also made suppressors illegal as well, in their proposed bills. Possession of that was illegal if I remember correctly.

Fortunately, those bills didn't pass but were postponed until they could "further study" them, but it gives you insight into what they want to do. It was all run by Blooomberg, so rest assured, any national plan would be coming from that same place. I'm sure it would be awesome to have a safe full of high end rifles, but if they get in, only use you'd have would be to defend your home because you won't be able to leave the house with them if they have their way.

I suppose technically not"confiscation" if you're willing to buy a tax stamp, pass NFA requirements, and submit to any new regulations they impose, or you could sell your guns "back" to the crown.

as for the B&T Ive owned both the APC9 and the APC9Pro. get the pro. its not that much more and the differences are worth it. Not sure if itll be here in time for november but the APC9Pro SD is the bees knees and I heard Tar Heel is taking preorders. Ive owned bout all the cool subguns popular these days and my opinion B and T takes the cake.

As for the Radian Model 1. Ive had alot of guns I said id never get rid of. I got rid of them. They will have to pry my radian out of my cold dead hands. I mean that. Owned alot of AR's. Some I built, some I bought built. Radian stands alone.

As for hard to find guns check Gunbroker.com. Just checked theres quite a few noveskes on there right now depending on what noveske you want. Ive found even in times like this, things can still be had, just have to know where to look.

gotta be honest in regards to warranty and your purpose for these rifles. The companies here now may not be here when its time to pass it to your kids. or your kids kids. shit remington just filed for bankruptcy for the second time in a decade. doubt many people saw that coming 20-25 years ago. companies like marlin have changed ownership countless times. the way so many of these companies are owned by massive corporations or groups. and than the small guys. will the small guys still be here if large capacity weapons get banned? what a warranty is now likely wont mean shit in 20 years.
Radian is also making a 300 blackout pistol. It looks great; have you handled one? If your Radian rifle is great can I deduce that their blackout pistol will be too? This would be for my wife... I see it's a little heavier than some, but if it handles well like light recoil and good ergonomics, I may just go for it.

Good lookin' youngins. Congrats on teaching them about guns...and 2A. They are the future of America's gun rights and freedoms That's what is missing in so many blacks families.....and why we are reaping what we see in black neighborhoods.. Well done, Dad!!!

Just got back from shooting the trio of my favorites. I havent shot a 300blk radian so I cant speak to it. but makes sense that it would be just as good as their offerings in other calibers.

Start collecting suppressors and setup the trust so your family ends up being trustees. Takes 8-12 months to get them anyway. Those would be nice to have stashed away as well.

Not if you Form 1 and make them yourself. You can have the Form 1 back in about 30 days, then it takes about 4-5 hours to build your own. Then you need to have the suppressor engraved and you're done. Much easier than buying one one Form 4.

There is almost no cost difference and even pretty good Form 1 suppressors are sub-par to commercial items. I'd just buy commercially proven ones.

That's not true. There are forums that have a great knowledge base and knowing how to drill and clip the baffles is the key to good suppression. Knowing how to properly make a suppressor can make all the difference. The main difference to making vs buying a suppressor is the time factor. I can apply and build as many suppressors as I can afford before I can get 1 Form 4 suppressor out of jail. You can also save a few dollars by building your own, but that's not really why you build your own. You're either an hands on kinda guy or a more dollars than sense kinda guy.

form1suppressor.com is a great forum. They have folks that build and test them. They then give a report as to how it suppresses. They know what they talk about over there.

My approach to the issue posed in the initial post has been to pick up a couple quality lowers and then start collecting uppers in the various calibers I wanted through Craddock Precision. I'm not really looking to have a safe full of tactical guns as long as I have one or two. The first two Craddock Precision uppers have both been in the 1/2 MOA or better range and I value that kind of precision. At that quality point, it's cheaper than buying complete weapons and I don't have to go through a FFL and leave more paperwork/ records laying around (which is an issue in WA state after I-1639 went into effect)

I went to Biden's web page and read his proposed "gun safety" initiatives. It is a long list of things I disagree with. In my opinion, if the anti-2nd amendment crowd can pull off a clean sweep in the elections and then throw out the filibuster rule in the senate, the meaning of the 2nd amendment will end up being revised to whatever the Supreme Court decides to allow. Personally I find it hard to believe the people who wrote the 2nd amendment intended it to mean only those licensed properly by the crown should be able to obtain arms and that once obtained, the arms should be registered with the crown.

I think the OP is on the right track to be concerned about his future weapon selection options.

That's fine if you have no confidence in your ability to build a quality suppressor. I for one have built a few and I will put them up against any store bought suppressor.

I know exactly what you’re saying. I have all of the top level tools required to make one. I’m not going to because I don’t want to source parts form three different companies that fail to provide useful specs on parts that are always out of stock, then buy tooling, to then fiddle with making my own cans that in the end won’t be nearly as durable, lightweight or good at suppressing as a market made can. Trust me I’ve looked hard into it.

Since you've NEVER engineered and built one, how can you make that statement. I'll put my "home made" suppressor up against any store bought. I've got a Ti suppressor with ALL components made from Ti. Show me where you get that quality from a store bought suppressor. I can build my suppressors so that they are tuned to an exact ammunition to allow the BEST suppression. A store bought suppressor has to be made to standards that work with subsonic as well as supersonic ammo, different bullet weights too. You can't engineer a suppressor to be effective with both types of ammo. There has to be compromises. Mine are built for specific ammo. Just the clipping is completely different between sub and super. How do you engineer just that issue in a store bought suppressor? What about spacing of the baffles? What about designg of the baffles? Do you use a K baffle, a 60 degree or a 50 degree baffle. Do you use stepped baffles? How do you think a store bought suppressor can be as good as my engineered suppressor.

I guess a stock Remington 700 will shoot better than one that has been built for a particular style of shooting, a certain bullet weight, for a 6 ft 8 in shooter or a 5 ft 2 in shooter.

I'm done, you've proved you know nothing about this subject.

Oh you’re that dude on the F1 forums that tells everyone if they just use your super special Hybrid-Toroidal-Beta Clip Cut - that they can do with a dremel, nail file, and a little hammering - that they’ll get better suppression than any of the trash Thunder Beast is putting out these days.

There are only two common responses from guys building their own suppressors:
- my parts are the bestest, and they happen to be for sale
- it doesn’t work like how I thought it would, but I made it so that’s cool

Please use extreme caution. I support you desire to prepare. Posting pictures of you and your weapons on any site is risky these days. Cash is still king while it still has value, credit cards will track the purchase back to you if we get to a point of confiscation. Have a some in a hidden place like in a wall . What is in your safe may get taken. I know I may sound a little paranoid but better safe than sorry.

They don’t get me excited... I don’t know why.
Do you, or anybody else have experience with Christensen Arms? They do look nice...
If only I could find a Noveske... those are going to be back ordered for a long, long time
Love my Christensen Arms Percision rifle 6.5 Creedmoor. Shoots as good as it looks

I’ve seen very mixed feedback... some complain, some are happy
You aren't wrong. I know some darn good shooters that have them and swear by them. I also have seen a few now that I wouldn't even hunt with. They need to work on their QC or test them better or something before sending them out. Seems like they're capable of making a good product. Now they just need to do it every time and they might even be able to compete with Proof.

Can’t imagine the AR I’ll build when I find some of pivot pin detents and pivot pin detent springs I’ve launched over the years.

My kids are ages 2 and 5, I have some time lol! Many of those guns will sit in storage for awhile.
im in the market for an optic on the JP, looking at the Burris X3. WJM gave that a real good review
Never to early to start teaching them. I have two younger brothers who are 12 & 16 years younger than I. I started teaching them at 5 & 9 when I would come home on leave. They are now way 25 & 21 years old. They love and respect firearms out the wazoo. I'd like to think that me starting them off at a young age helped with that...well that & Call of duty video games.

Yes, you're right. I bought what I believe is called a cricket rifle for my first son. It was a really cheap rifle built for very little kids. I bet LOP was 6-8 inches. Single shot, bolt action. He was 4 year sold and it fit him until he was about 6 or possibly 7. He's now 34 and shoots trap just about anything that he can think of. I just gave him a S&W revolver so he could shoot in a bowling pin league just for revolvers. Start them young and they will be hooked for life.

As a born and bred New Yorker, I want to make sure they don't grow up scared of guns, and no better way then to get them comfortable young, I fully agree.

I’ve been reading about V Seven weapons, they’ve got some really interesting stuff. Incredibly
lightweight, accurate guns. Pricey, but not out of line compared to products like Wilson and JP.
Again, not much information out there on them, anybody here own one?

Slightly over 6 pounds for a .308, amazing.

i totaly agree with this statement!
please, get a cmmg 22lr upper, it will get them familiar with the AR15 platform, and its fun, my kids love it ( it is also suppressed)

ps, its mentioned before, get some suppressors, they are not very expensive and totaly transform the shooting experience
also, better get the applications in the system sooner than later

alot of gear recommendations, but i wanted to mention it's important to seek reputable training. in addition to the obvious benefits of this, youll be able to see what gear works and what you like/dont like etc.

I also would recommend watching Travis Haley's stuff on youtube (Haley strategic partners). Start there.

Just as our youth are indoctrinated through the media and public schools we too must indoctrinate our youth with strong values of the republic from inside the home.

I’ve got about two months until I get my Wilson’s in 16” barrel and maybe 4-5 months for my JP in 18” barrel. I’d like to start buying ammo for them though, is there a particular brand/grain that would be a safe bet to start buying? Or must I wait to test it out on a case by case basis?

My recommendation for shooting skills is dry fire, dry fire, dry fire.
Nothing beats dry fire, even including live fire.
I hear lots of guys complain that they don’t have the budget to get good at shooting, however, it’s more that they don’t have the discipline to dry fire.

Tough to buy ammo, especially 223 and 9mm as you
Might be aware. You want a good long range bullet for that jp get black hills 77grtmk,federal sierra matchking 62gr, for self defense federal fusion bonded, gold dot. However, you are gonna have a tough time finding it so you’ll need to settle.

I typically shoot 15-20k rounds a year and so this Ammo shortage is a killer for me. I’ve stopped shooting my 223/556 rifles and shoot 5.45 since it’s the cheapest thing to shoot. Hence the advantage of multiple calibers.

Isn’t the JP.308 much higher grain weights? Those sound like 5.56 grain weights...
You can still find ammo through ammoseek... it’s just a lot more expensive.

ah in 308, follow the same pattern. black hills, federal gold medal match etc. you might be able to find that ammo in 308 but you will have a really hard time finding it in 223. If you can find black hills in 223 in stock anywhere, please let me know!

I live outside Vegas in Pahrump, I have a Tavor SAR IDF. Their customer service is excellent and I love the way the rifle handles, going to purchase a Tavor 7 soon as well. I have a scar 17 as well and honestly is has been 100% reliable for me and for a .308 shoots extremely soft. I would also recommend the colt as others have said if you can find one, they are I believe no longer selling to the civilian market and it will most likely retain or increase in value. I also recommend Seekins Precision, they make excellent rifles and stand behind their product. Most AR brands can’t touch their accuracy and definately not at their price point in my opinion. Get an sp15 and an sp10. And as others said, more ammo. A gun is basically a horrible club at best without ammo to fire out of it , and there is no second amendment protection for ammo so I believe that is a route the left will pursue soon enough when other avenues they go down don’t yield results they want. Buy 5.56 Xm193, xm855, and .308 m80 Federal lake city it’s a pretty safe bet for reliability. If you plan to reload get lapua ammo and reload the brass. Have you thought of getting a plate carrier setup and body armor? Stock up on spare AR bolts, buffer tubes, buffer springs, firing pins, couple spare triggers, couple spare stocks, spare lower parts kits etc... buy more magazines pmags, lancer mags etc... stock up on dehydrated food if you can and water if you got the money which it seems you do, never a bad idea to be prepared. Go shoot, teach your children firearms safety and respect for them. I grew up in Idaho and was taught from a very young age to respect weapons, their is no replacement for respect of a weapon.

I’ve been buying ammo but it’s quite expensive and it’s an endless rabbit hole it never feels like enough.
Others here have also recommended seekins, their price point looks very good value for the quality
