I have approximately a 10K budget.

Would you get a CNVD-LR Unfilmed White phosphor NV scope or an ECOTI?

Applications: hunting, SHTF

Haves or on way: Voodoo-S, DTNVS, 2 PVS-14s, unspecified lasers (3), so 2 bridged setups ((a) binos and (b) voodoo-S + PVS-14) for ecoti use.

Curious where you would put your money.

I like the idea of shorter positive facial ID versus thermal in regards to CNVD-LR over say a LWTS-LR. UTC is another animal because of trac-IR but -X is double price of CNVD-LR. So, that leaves CNVD-LR.

If you already have thermal capability (voodoo s) then you are able to locate heat sources, and the CNVD-LR will be great for identifying them. ECOTI and the original COTI are not that great in my opinion. They have limited detection range, terrible resolution, and add more weight and awkwardness to your head.

I would take a clip on NVD in any form before I would get a COTI. It is just too niche in its usage for someone who pays for their own stuff to have.

Brah... why no ask Horta direct.

CNVD-LR. All. Day. Long.

I thought we had something.

(P.S. Voodoo-S does TracIR).

Agreed.

Ecoti is cool. 2124LR is more cool. Based on what you have, get the L3 unit. But really... buy both

I was leaning towards the scope. This may swing it fully there.

So how limited is the detection range of the ECOTI? Very curious. Does anyone know if the CNVD-LR goes down to 4x and up to 20x. I would be using a Schmidt and Bender 1-8x, 5-20x, or 3-27x.

Thank you!!

And Horta, I bother you directly too much already! Thanks as usual!

Thanks for the info!!!

What do you guys think of 2360 FOM? Good enough? Do you know if I can upgrade later if I want?

2376 is minimum FOM. Every 24 I’ve seen made in the last 2 years is probably well north of that.

2124LR is the best NV clipon on the market today. Mine can see a 12x24” IPSC plate at 1000 yards with little to no moon.

(Want to post faux toes. Forum won’t let me post faux toes. )

I concur. It's always nice to have an illuminator, and sometimes you need it, but if you know where your target is, you can still see it way out yander, with the faintest of moons.

Image, focus nob, and weight make this sucker a real winner.

How far back should the end of the CNVD-LR be from the muzzle?

It seems I am pretty close with a Schmidt and Bender 1-8 Dual CC in front of the clip on on a SR25 14.5". Forget an HK416 upper with typical (non-extended) rail and same optic. Not enough rail. So, how close is too close?

the end of mine sits right at the muzzle but then I shoot suppressed. If I was not suppressed I would use my CNVD which works very well also and sits back a little over an inch. And that is on a 6.5 Grendel SBR 12.5 inch.

I may have to change from nose-to-charging handle to sitting the scopes further back. These S&B's are long. Tempted to get a DR Optic 1.5-6x even though no diopter. We'll see. Eyeballing them now on EO. Also trying to find a CNVD - lol. GP one just sold today on here. I want another WP >2376 FOM if I get a CNVD.

Edited to add: cheaper to get the Dr. Optic scope as a backup to fit with the CNVD-LR than get a CNVD.

be sure to check the last couple numbers of the model....I've seen white phosphorus with low specs and the new ones out that are 2300 and above I picked up one last month

I’m more so just interested if the 24 came in WP seeing as how I’ve only seen commercial units in GP. Now that their public ally available, looks like they can be had in WP. But.. I’m all full up on the 24LR WP. Great unit.
so get a WP 2300 plus fom cnvd lr. took me about 3 phone calls to find one. plenty out there

How would a retubed 27 compare to a 24LR?
I've used both. I think the 27 is better as far as optics, light gathering, usable magnification levels. The 24 is lighter and has better ergos.

I believe the Brownell’s units are GP and *NOT* MIN 2376 FOM.

Those have been sold to .CIVs for years now.

The 2376 units ARE still restricted by L3, but EOTech seems to be willing to S.O. them in very small numbers to .CIVs. There’s some mixed information coming from each camp right now.

Present day, correct.
