AR Ban Implications on existing owners and Boulder Tragedy

It is interesting how people that do not believe that the election was stolen put ZERO stock in that article. Even "intelligent" people think that Biden somehow fell outside of the theory.
The problem is that Benford's law isn't applicable to the question at hand. The reasoning is simple. Assume a large group of average sized precincts. You have 700 votes, in a binary choice election. Benford's law applied to candidate #1 says that 30% of his vote counts should start with the number 1. So basically those are vote counts from 100-199 (we'll exclude very small numbers). Then, necessarily, the vote count of candidate 2 needs to be 700-C1, or in these 30% of the time, it will be between 501 and 600. So 30% of the precincts have Candidate 2 with vote counts starting with 5, which violates the principle of Benford's law that states this should only be 8%.

This kind of mathematical proof is known as reductio ad absurdum.

William Mebane is THE expert on Benford. It isn't a law that applies everywhere, it applies to certain kinds of data sets, but not these. I realize the fact that I am saying this makes you guys dubious, but math is math.

Hey, thats the spirit! Every forum needs a village idiot.
Hey man, we'll always have those two minutes of agreement about the mother of the football player who got his ass kicked in the bathroom.

F! I resemble that quote. Are you in a gillie suit, with N.V., spying on me?? Just remember, shithead... I'm armed, damn it!! Mac:ROFLMAO::LOL:

Im not being judgemental....Im just pointing out if the plandemic was real they would be pushing prevention measures more powerful than donning the mask of submission.

But someone eating right and exercising doesn't say "I surrender" like a mask does.

Not to mention the almost astonishing weight gain statistics from almost every age group during COVID. Arguably more life years have been lost to that than anything else.

That the laws were changed illegally has no bearing on it either. I've got a bridge to sell you. No judge would touch it, because it would have literally invalidated the election, and none had the balls to do that on the if-come. The general judgement on all the cases was simply that the challenge came too late even though laws were clearly broken, and the democratic process usurped.

Saying there was no fraud, and no illegality is simply willfully ignorant. This election was STOLEN, and unlike the free and fair election where Trump waxed Hillary, we are not going to investigate it for a single second, much less allow it to poison Biden's term...

How much do you want to bet Chode believed every second of the Russia Hoax for all four years?

....and everyone dismisses that the challenge was made prior to the election but at that point in time the courts said "there had been no injury yet, see us when you have a complaint".

Fucking crime.

Yup.

Just not the smartest argument I've ever heard to argue that if 2BL cannot be applied reliably in all voting precincts then it should be applied to none.

Also, the argument was never that when actual results do not conform with expected results then there 100% must be fraud or 2BL is defective. It is one out of many elections forensics tools to use in an elections forensics toolkit that when you look at the totality of the circumstances can be made part of the basis to determine if further investigation is needed to explain why the actual results did not conform with expected results, especially when other tools in the elections forensic toolkit also point toward possible fraud or unexplained results that do not conform with historical or expected results.
Wait, you think 18 million votes came from five precincts as well? Interesting. Please show these monster precincts. Also, that paper argues 1BL, not two.

The govt doesn't give half a fuck about reducing crime. They like crime, because it gives them justification for restricting or removing your freedoms. As far as ar's, of any length, is concerned, more people are killed with hammers than ar's. I'm not a carpenter, but don't advocate for outlawing hammers. What you seem to fail to understand, is, it won't end with ar's. They know a blanket gun ban won't work, so they get a little here, and a little there until you wake up one day and they're all gone.

You can remove all the guns from law abiding folks and the crime rate will not move one bit, not in a positive way. what so many seemingly semi-intelligent people seem to fail to understand is this; murder is already illegal. If someone chooses to murder someone else, do you think they give a shit about breaking a gun law.

The govt wants to disarm us because they're cowards. Look how long they had DC locked down over a protest. If they weren"t screwing the people over, they wouldn't be worried about us.

This is absolutely correct. Case in point, Mexico and the cartels. WHO has the guns?? The BAD guys. Mac

The point is that there are precincts with enough votes where 2bl could be applied.
Yes, and we have argued that in the past. I think it is debatable, not definitive. My point is that every argument in this thread, including the paper posted was about first order Benford. And that the idea that five precincts have 18 million votes is unbelievably misinformed.

I was being sarcastic. Just feeling a little pricky. No feelings hurt and I'm not THAT fat! Damn it!
Speaking of masks and submission. I was just out on my porch, having a smoke, watching the world go by, and watched a woman coming back from lunch, to a business next door, walking by herself, out in the open, fresh air, wearing a F'n mask. Then, watched an Amazon van driver with his window open, wearing a F'n mask. The .gov has the "sheep", just were they want them, surrendered.
Our society is going to be totally F'd, if this madness doesn't stop. Mac

I have no idea where you live, but I literally have never seen a person in a mask outside in my state. To wear one outside is madness. I know a lot of people here think wearing them inside is crazy, but there is a serious difference between wearing a mask in a store, and wearing one on the street.

"You each put three shots in running animals, at the instruction of a very experienced guide." I feel about 99% sure this story is total bullshit. Most of your posts read like you have no idea what you are talking about.
Definitely sounds like an Elmer Keith story to me.

Pretty sure this dude is a politician of some sort or a staffer that’s been on the boards for a minute. They are likely doing research or something.

Like many of the others, they come on here, make a statement and then do a shitty job of defending their position.
Once that happens, they go silent.

Hunting Guide's rules of fair chase
Yeah, it's curious how the guide could be there instructing him which shot to take and running the elk at the same time.
It's not illegal in the Laws of Fair Chase but:

"...There are certain aspects of fair chase hunting that extend beyond written laws. For example, shooting at a running deer is not illegal, nor are there any laws regarding shooting at extremely long ranges with a firearm or bow. To those who believe in the responsibility to kill quickly and cleanly, taking such risky shots would be unethical. A large part of the time-honored tradition of hunting has to do with the fact that sportsmen police themselves and others both within and beyond the rule of law.[11]" - Wikipedia

If you had a good rest and an elk were standing still, 275 yds. is not out of realm of an ethical shot for a competent rifleman with suitable rifle and caliber. I've seen elk wounded and lost when hit well with a 7 mag. too. Elk are the toughest animal in the deer family, by far, with a Cape Buffalo will to live.

No way would I have taken a running shot at that range and if the guide didn't tell you not to before he drove them out of the timber he's not the splendid guide that he was made out to be.

Oh hey, we are going to agree again!!

I live in elk country and have seen amazing feats of will to live out of those fuckers. Out of respect, you need to shoot them in the right spot, with a good hunting bullet, or they are going to die really hard deaths down in the willows or some other godawful place. There were a number of guys around here using Berger 195s in their 28 Noslers and taking multiple kill zone shots to put them down. Good hunters, experienced guys. Elk like to live.

A lot of guides are idiots. Good ones are worth their weight.

I member of our party shot a 5x5 bull thru the lungs with a 300 Win. Mag. and it lowered it's head and kept grazing.

Let's see how far they move the goalpost with masks once the first 100 days are done.

Doc
The 100 days aren't over and its already coming.
Biden just asked ever gov, mayor , and city official in the country to reinstate mask mandates !

Hi,

Yep, my local spot for Salmon Sashimi closed but McFattys kept on rolling....

Late to the party. Thank God they closed that place down do you have any idea how much mercury is in that sheeit?

Hi,

Evidently none of the bloodwork and other series of test I get every 3 months knows either, lolol

They test from heavy metals, poisons to nuclear radiation and haven't found anything yet, hahaha

Sincerely,
Theis

I could sell them 200 of these at 200 each without a second thought , buy my ar's are in a safe place and I only have 2 mags here so come and get em .

Yeah it was a poor attempt at humor. As long as it's not a bottom feeder like shellfish it should be good to go. Mussels are the ones to watch out for.

The King Soopers tragedy hit close to home as it is 1 mile from my son's college apartment and he usually shops there on Monday's - fortunately he was with me that night - It got me thinking about my position on an A/R ban - I have several in addition to my bolt guns. I wonder what would happen to existing legal owners - I have heard the government would pay for the weapons if they ever took them away. It would be interesting if I they would pay what we all paid - which could be quite pricey, especially when you include the scope.

It also got me thinking about a solution to the problem - I have always argued that picking on AR's is stupid, as a common hand gun has about the same capacity, rate of fire and can fit in your pocket and is far more dangerous in most circumstances (except things like the Las Vegas Shooting) - meaning a crazy can not typically walk in a movie theater toting his 308 AR.

I think if I were going to address this problem I would limit sales of high mag anything to people that had any sort of violence convictions for a long time and maybe some day let them buy a deer rifle to hunt, lengthen the waiting period and increase the scrutiny on background checks. Also I have always been surprised that short barrel AR Pistols are legal - the Velcro thing on the butt stock is a joke and they are no different from a normal AR.

Again I love my shooting and hunting hobby, but the only use I can think of for a 10 in barrel 556 or 308 BO is urban warfare. (Maybe for hogs??)

I would think they are terrible home defense weapons as you will shoot through your walls and into your neighbors house -

Perhaps if you lived in Mogadishu or Darfur they would be handy to protect the family from roaming terrorists and genocidal maniacs but not here.

My AR's self identify as a poodle and my "high" capacity mags self identify as string....so you want to ban poodles and string?

Thanks for the nice response
I never thought the shot was unethical but perhaps you are right - each one had all three shots we fired in them. We had been freezing for 4 days in 20 degrees from before dawn to after sunset - and these were the only animals we saw - our very experienced guide had us set up on a ridge and he chased them out of the dark timber -
You are an unethical shitbag , opinion ion formed from your very best in description of your hunt , guide and decisions.

First and only post in the Bear Pit - many will be glad
1. I love America, I love my guns, know how to use them, practice often, just not combat and believe in my 2nd amendment rights
2. There are probably some ex military or special forces on here and I thank you for serving - my cousin was a Marine based in Da Nang in the late 60's and my brother in law died 30 years later from Hep B from being a med evac pilot in the same place - I worship them
3. I should have known better than to post this topic here - it will be people like me that end up saving your second amendment rights through intelligent discourse, legal protection and compromise
4. I wonder how many of the haters on here have actually used their weapons to protect their life or anyone's - LE and Military excepted and I humbly thank you for serving society and our country -
5. The toys comment was a joke - obviously they are very serious business - I just have way more than I actually need hence the humor
6. For those that can read I was actually arguing for AR's by stating a pistol is more dangerous - and I never came close to suggesting banning handguns
7. I would be outraged if the government actually tried to take my AR's - is was only interesting to explore how they would compensate, as was said, the genie is out of the bottle and at this point a ban would only put them in the hands of the bad guys.
8. I assume none of you that hate posted objected to not selling guns to violent convicted criminals or crazy people - unless you are hiding something
9. All the incendiary and ignorant comments here were actually amusing - except the guy that posted the Rosa Parks comment - You - I would like to face you in the boxing ring without your gun to protect you.

Stupid to the core, and can talk for hours, legs crossed like a bitch while drinking wine.

All the while doesn't know anything based on actual life experiences or suffering.

Everything he/she/it posted image n this thread reads like a combination of things gathered from internet searches and compiled to join groups like this to get someone to say something that WILL bring forces against a site like this one.

Perhaps I am paranoid, but my radar went off on the first post.

While I generally agree with your other statements and sentiments regarding #1 there is a slight to major difference. Those two wars were half a world away and were only mildly supported by the local populace. Most of them were nuetral (just leave me the fuck alone to live my life) or anti American intervention. The one you speak of would be at home and likely, given the changing population demographic and technology, much more difficult. Especially, if given the weakening of our military, the Chinese got involved. Our republic would stand slim to no chance of survival. Lets hope we can find a better solution.

EXACTLY you cement brained motherfucker. You absolutely DO see how government controlling healthcare is the key to controlling all aspects of our lives, but far from thinking this is a horrible thing that destroys our birthright to liberty, you fucking WANT to be ruled like a sheep! Although, like all bloodthirsty totalitarians you fantasize that you are going to be the one in control visiting pain on your neighbor if they refuse to comply, rather than the reality that socialist thieves like you will be the real slaves, who either lick the boot or go off to the camps without a fight. It's the fatal flaw of all you totalitarian bitches. You think it won't apply to you, because you think what constitutes your own pursuit of happiness ought to apply to everyone by force. Right now you think your definition of happiness should be made to apply to everyone.

Morons like you, who place no value on liberty, and flout your birthright, won't actually get what we're talking about until the first time you find your masters have decided that what makes you miserable shall henceforth constitute pursuit of your happiness, and you are compelled to stand on the sidewalk cheering as the means of misery and enslavement go by. Only then will you realize what a spoiled and ignorant brat you were to throw away the greatest gift God ever gave man...Liberty and the ability to choose. Of course, by then it will be too late, and if it gets to that point most of the people you're spouting off at will be dead. So you'll not be without some comfort in your brave new world.

The question is not whether we are willing to die for our Constitution and our God given rights. That has already been settled for many of us by the oaths that bind for life. The question is: How many millions of your own countrymen are you willing to murder to try and take our rights away?

We know exactly what you are, and we've planted a shitton of garden variety totalitarians like you since 1776.
Man I was hanging on every word and right there with you until you started with the oath bullcrap. Other than that, good words.

Only elk they saw so the place was obviously shot out or the 'very experienced guide' put them in a place where the elk had migrated out of.

Unless it's required in places such as Alaska, I have a separate opinion for 'hunters' that rely on guides to hunt for them.

Interested to hear your opinion on that. I don't use outfitters, but there are places I hunt that, if I didn't have my own packstring, I would be pretty fucked trying to get something out. Guys from out of state can't bring mules with them, so they get outfitters.
