Yeah, I like the reticle but 14x is short for target shooting. Overall, I think it would be better on strictly hunting rifle. Thanks for the info!

I have a .308. I don't shoot much other calibers over 300 yards, so my other rifles usually have duplex reticles.

Re: Tough decision... For a bench gun at a fixed range, I'd go with a SWFA SS fixed power to save money. I looked forever at them, but I wanted a variable power scope for hunting and target shooting. But to each their own.

Re: how much ring gap do you go for? A torque spec would be how much static force (friction) is being exerted on the screw by the scope onto the rings. So, there's no real way to quantify how much gap is how much torque.
