Thanks for the advice, but would like to be more sure about it. After some research, it would seem this is actually normal behavior. I've been watching some youtube clips with people doing tracking tests on FFP scopes. Seems like the reticle also ever so slightly moves off-center while turning...
I have recently received a replacement vortex viper pst scope (ffp, 6-24x, erb-2c reticle). I noticed that if I turn the windage adjustment, the reticle in the scope actually moves. Somehow I would have expected it to always remain centered. I haven't noticed it before with my first scope (it...
Also keep the clearance between the eye-bell and the bolt in mind, impossible to run it fast without damaging your scope if its tight. I had that issue with DIP base+low rings, should've ordered mediums instead...
I believe the old 300WM barrel for the AW has the same threads as the (old) AX, so that could be a consideration. Don't know about the new style barrel, but I'm sure one of the PSR owners or AI insiders will let you know. (I doubt it'll work, as they said it wont work the other way around, which...
I'm guessing .223 isn't a legal hunting caliber over there? 6,5x47 lapua should have pretty low recoil but you'll need to reload That said, I'd probably go .243 for a low-recoil hunting gun.
Should be. Got the numbers straight from the item catalog/price list, and the site lists it under the 2014 products. But you might want to ask one of the several AI dealers like mile high if you plan on ordering one. (I hear they give discounts to SH members)
Thats whats being offered right now, but everything with the same boltface should be possible, IF you can feed them somehow. Short action magnums will work with the 300wm bolt, but not sure on feeding from magazines (might have to modify them). Short actions based on the 308 (like the 260rem)...
Not with the 308 bolt. The swede has a slightly bigger rim. Doubt it with the magnum bolt. If you dare, you might be able to enlarge the 308 boltface a bit.
AT only has the .473" (308win) bolt head, no others available. There will be the option to swap calibers within the 308 family though, no headspacing required. You'll need the new long action AX if you want the same for both 308 and long action cartridges. Avaiable bolts the for the 308, magnum...
Sweet! Didn't expect the same price in barrels. But regarding weight, didn't the AX308MC also lose some weight compared to the old short action AX? I'm not sure, but certainly expected the long action to be (slightly) heavier. It just seems so obvious to me. But even so, a bit more weight...
