i paid 33 dollars a pound for varget when I was in Kentucky felt like I got raped but I needed it. the thing is when I was there the guy says " better buy all of them since we have them. " he had three pounds, maybe that's the problem here lately.....
I bought some once fired .308 brass and it seemed like it had been MG fired. I'm just using a FL die as it's for my bolt gun but I was using one shot at that time and ended up sticking about 3 cases so I switched to imperial and never had a problem again. I'm not completely sold on the one...
the bullets aren't jammed into the lands, its a 110 grain v-max and hard to seat out that far. I have heard of federal brass being soft and am hoping that its not the case with the lot that I have. I have ran full powered varget loads with 168 hpbt's out of this brass and have seen no ill...
first off im shooting a savage model 10 in .308, I loaded up some 110 grain hornady V-max's with H 4198. Im using hornady's 9th edition manual, I started at their recommended starting point of 33.0 grains then went to 34.9 and had to stop at 36.9 due to a blown out primer. the previous...
onethousandmeters I love the part in the book where the guys are trying to get across the canal with the beach balls. I laughed for 10 minutes after reading that part. I only brought him up to stir up the topic. one of my favorite books is one shot one kill. and I have read quite a...
I just ran 500 rounds of once fired federal brass through my dies, I cleaned them half way through with some bake cleaner. I didn't lube it per-sey, I just went ahead and lubed up a couple cases and ran them through like normal. I use hornady one shot lube.
I don't know about deadly but I missed the bag on one of the shots, and it put a nice dent in the drywall...... gotta explain that one to the wife. I don't know if it leaves glue in the barrel but I would imagine that as soon as you go out and shoot a couple FMJ's through it it should be...
one more thing, if your going to do this use a large glue gun not the small sticks like my wife had. the bullets don't form all the way and you get air pockets in them where the glue cools entering the mold.
I said the same thing until I tried it !!! i had a hundred or so pieces of brass with magnum primers in them and i wanted to put standard rifle primers in for the new rounds i'm trying to load. so i figured i'd give it a try. im telling you, you wont be disappointed. Updated: Hot Glue...
I used 110 grain v-max's out of my savage and it shot them well, I used blue dot in it and it shot very well at 100 yards but when you go to 200 yards its almost 11 inches of drop. I found that the best bullet to shoot sub loads in my gun with blue dot was 165 grain hornady match. I got a...
Saw this on you tube the other day and decided to give it a try. I have a smith and Wesson .500 mag, so I took a mold and slinked away with wifeys hot glue gun and every stick of glue she had and made some bullets. they're fun, I shot into a box with a towel in it and it easily stopped them...
