For Those of You who Wear Costa Del Mar Frames...

I wonder if some of the change occurred when Luxotica bought out Costa? They gave me warranty on a pair of frames, just charging $12.00 for shipping. When I cracked a lens a few months later, I offered to purchase a new lens and they told me that that model of sunglasses was no longer available...

Upgraded T1X or stock Bergara B-14R

I have been very happy with my TX-1. There have been a number of complaints over the years about Beretta USA warranty service, but I have never had to use it for my Tikka rifles. There have been a few scattered issues with broken firing pins but mine has been fine and I shoot weekly. A company...

    Beto's Back, Baby!

Alan West was a lousy Congressman while serving the 18th district of Florida. He stayed in his hotel room to avoid giving a concession speech when he was defeated after one term. He moved to Texas soon after. I don’t think many conservative Texans would like to be represented by West.

Need some measurements from a 10/22 hogue overmold stock

If you mean from the very front outside of the receiver, the Houge overmolded stock is 10 1/4 inches long. From the inside front of the receiver it is roughly 11 inches. Your 10”barrel will not clear the rubber stock in my opinion. With the factory 16 inch barrel, the barrel extends 5 1/8”.

Buy ammo direct from SK, Lapua or Eley?

Killough is easy to deal with for Eley. They ship quickly from rural Texas with good packaging and fair shipping charges.

    Same Company? ammoshoponline vs normashooting

Yes. I believe that they both are the same. The company appears to be a distribution company for Norma and other RUAG lines. Be very careful with their shipping charges. They offered free shipping over the Labor Day holiday weekend with a $300+ order. Watch the prices carefully. The ammo is...

Anybody use PODS type moving service?

My daughter and son-in-law moved from Iowa to Florida using this service. It went well. You are responsible for packing your items securely. They will pull the container from the shelf one or two times if you need a few items at the warehouse close to your destination. We had to get a few things...

    Official Savage Thread?

Nice job on the video. Innovative use of the open end or closed end wrench to hold the assembly during compression of the spring. Be sure to wear safety glasses. If you lose the "C" clip on the shaft, Lowe's has a similar size in the hardware section.

    Off hand or Awful hand

I consider off hand shooting ( without a shooting coat) the most challenging rifle sport. Minimizing the wobble zone with proper trigger and breath control is difficult. I see many shooters with high dollar bench rests comparing accuracy in 1/16th inch increments and I wonder why. There are many...

    Official Savage Thread?

Gordon, that looks perfect. My old spring looked OK, but a new one helped. My bolt never looked as good as yours does. In fact, the bolt had the worst blueing job of any firearm I have owned. The new spring should help the light strikes. Good luck.

    Official Savage Thread?

Sorry, they must have changed their policy after the Savage ownership change. McMaster-Carr may be your best bet. You may end up with more springs than you want. Be sure to seek out the YouTube video as you need to compress the old spring carefully. You’ll be surprised how much grime is in the...

    Official Savage Thread?

Savage will sell you at retail most of the parts like the firing pin and spring. They will email you a “gunsmith” form that you need to sign and fill in. You are releasing them from liability. YouTube has a good video on how to compress the spring for removal and replacement. This was true...
