Hey George if and when you get 6.5 SAUM head stamp brass made like you did for the 6mm creedmore. What size neck will it come with. Are you going to run a standard neck or tight neck with the new brass?
For me I first start by finding the FPS I feel safe with. Then I start .010 off and work up to .010 jammed. In .002 increments. For a VLD I find jammed works the best and a BT or hybrid .005-.010 off works best. But like always this is just my way of doing it.
It's just how it works. Why do you think that 99% of good gunsmiths use other extractors. I've seen way to many Remington's fail. The sako and M-16 just work so much better and fail so little.
A friend once said if Lapua makes it ill shoot it. Best brass on the market and it lasts twice as long as any other. I love my 6.5x47 you can't go wrong with it. Run the 140 hybrids with RL17 and you will see what small groups look like.
Both are really nice. If I was shooting three gun ten times a year I might get the 1-6. But I don't and I love the PST 1-4. It's just not worth the extra 800 to me.
