Go to online store for ammunition?

With ammo prices like they are, has anyone started using custom loaded ammo? For example, I haven't seen .270 Win (factory, 150 grain, Remington) for less than $50 on Gunbroker for a while and it's totally sold out most other places. At that price I could just order some custom loaded rounds...

Rifle Scopes How important is it to be close to mechanical zero?

I've been using these for years on my air rifles and they're top notch. From the guys who use them on firearms I haven't heard any complaints. Overall great rings that allow lots of fine tuning to your point of impact without cranking the windage and elevation.

Rifle Scopes How important is it to be close to mechanical zero?

+1 on above. As a hunter, outdoorsman I never worried about it but now that I have the knowledge it's a quick and painless process to check before sighting in.

    Noise cancelling ear protection...

Good discussion - I'm also interested to see if there are any new products that are a worthwhile hearing protection upgrade.

Whats everyone running for ballistics app?

Might be too simple for most, but I like the Federal online ballistics calculator. For precision airgun, Hawke ChairGun Pro is top notch (and free).

Rifle Scopes Scope for around 1000

Leupold still makes a decent US scope for your budget. If you qualify for the military/veteran discount it's hard to beat for the price. Vortex had a great scope and warranty as well but some of the lower end are made in China.

Trigger upgrade - best 2 stage for 2020?

As an update, I just installed and had some range time with the Geissele SSA-E. Overall it is an excellent trigger right out of the box and I'm highly impressed. Thanks to all those who showed me some great options and helped with my decision.

Trigger upgrade - best 2 stage for 2020?

Lots of great feedback - much appreciated! I'm going to do some further reading with all this new information to check out. Primarily, this gun will be for varmint / hog control with occasional range time (no competitions or matches). I'm currently getting decent groups but believe an...

Sidearms & Scatterguns The most nice 4" .44 Magnum?

Another vote for S&W although I prefer the older models without the internal locking system. Ruger is also a good option.

Trigger upgrade - best 2 stage for 2020?

Friends, I have a BCM 750-750 (5.56 carbine) and would like to upgrade the trigger to a 2 stage at about 2.75-3 lbs. Factory is nearly 6 lbs. Years ago Jewell and Timney were the big names. Is this still the case? I did a search but didn't see any new/er threads. Thanks!
