I have an X-Treme Model 22 trigger in an AICS AX chassis that had to be modified for it to fit properly. By properly, I mean that although I could get the barreled action tightened in the chassis, the safety plate of the trigger assembly would contact the side of the chassis when the action...
In order to address not only the 0.040" height difference between a standard FSB and that of an 'F-marked' FSB, here is an image of a detachable carry handle from an early 90's Colt 'Blue Label' 6700 Competition H-BAR vs that of a current production Colt M4. The Colt 6700 came from the factory...
Bryan Litz talks about this in Post #70 of this thread: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/range-report-exterior-ballistics/216887-applied-ballistics-kestrel%3B-pro-staff-support-thread-2.html
In regards to Devcon Steel Putty and rust, take a look at this previous thread: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/sniper-hide-gunsmithing/94854-devcon-plastic-steel-putty-rust.html
Are you looking to remove the factory R700 barrel with it? I use the Surgeon wrench for switching between barrels and find that it works great, but I'm not sure that I'd use it for removing a factory barrel that is likely torqued way over the 100 ft-lb max rating.
...there's also 300m F-Class matches at MGFC in St. Francis, MN. Those are open to the public and held on the weekends if that's something you're looking for. They have a nice electronic scoring system there, but there are rules regarding allowed bullet types in order to limit wear and tear on...
Harris does have a relaxed 1000yd F-Class match (by relaxed, I mean that it's more or less a practice session...shoot as much or as little as you want) open to the public on Thursday evenings although I'm not sure how long it runs through the fall. Once you decide to stretch the legs a bit it's...
I have a 20" TRG-22 with the factory 0MOA rail and the same NF F1 scope you're using...I decided to go with the Nightforce UniMount (A190, I believe) and couldn't be happier. 20 MOA built in and it's a very low-profile look. If you want a picture let me know and I'll post one.
You may want to check with Chris Drake of Drake Associates. They have a 50 BMG muzzle brake design that I believe Chris said may be available in metric threads. That's about all the information I have other than copying his contact info from a thread here since the brake he's sending me is...
As for the PRI balance, it is a relatively lightweight forend but with the chunk of a barrel I have on this 260 I don't know if I'd honestly notice much of a difference between the PRI and something perhaps a few ounces heavier. I like the feel of the composite material, especially in cooler...
Another vote for the PRI tube. I have a DD Lite Rail on a 308 Win and the PRI on a 260 Rem and would take the PRI rail any day of the week. I haven't had a chance to try any of the 'new' tubes that have come out lately, though.
