+1 If you're just getting into rifles Savage are a good place to start. Easy to modify yourself and easy on the budget (not to start the classic Savage/Rem debate. I like them both). For what your original post says either one will fit the bill fine. I recommend the .308 as well. Shot...
I know this thread's a little old, but FYI, Amistad's been pretty low lately. The fishing has kinda dropped with the water level, but still some of the best around. I've only done some off the shore, but I've heard it's a lot better by boat. Nice rifle by the way. 338 Lapua is near the top...
Thanks, I'll look more at the SWFA. Just throwing out an option for the OP who wanted variable magnification on the budget. My price range was about the same as theirs, but if the scope is better I'll get a fixed one.
I'm looking at the Primary Arms 4-14x44 Mil Mil FFP for my next scope for my 308. I've only heard good things about it. I'm torn between it and a fixed SWFA.
That will be interesting to see. Those custom turrets look nice. I'll keep the original ones on for now since I shoot a couple different loads through it depending on what I'm doing (varmit, deer, target, etc). I need to work up some good loads for this rifle too. As far as reviewing the...
Ya I sighted it in at 50 today (that's as far as my range at work) and was very pleased. I need to do a little adjusting to get my cheek weld a little better, but it wasn't too bad. Overall though I love the scope. Very clear and good magnification. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
So... apparently it's snowing up north or something so shipping's taking a while. Don't have that problem here. It's been in the 80's the last few days. Estimated delivery of mine is next Wednesday.
So I'm looking at getting a good deal on a Savage 11 with accustock and accutrigger from a friend, but I've looked all over and can't get a straight answer to my question. Are aftermarket parts for the 10 compatible with the 11? The 11 action is based off the 10, right? I'll shoot it stock for...
If I remember right from a report I read at work a while ago a tick has to be attached to you for like 30 hours to transfer lyme disease. I'm sure some doctors or biologists would be more knowledgeable though. Finding ticks attached to you is no fun, trust me, but as long as you get them...
Nice looking snake. It seems like around here all the steroids and protein they put out for the deer seep into all the other animals too. I'm just the other side of San Antonio from you and 5+ footers are no fun to walk up on.
