    Any Roadies Out There

Been road riding for 15+ years. Started mtn biking 20+ years ago. Went through a few mtn bikes (e.g. ProFlex then eventually to Ventana Marble Peak) to road bikes. Ended up staying with road bikes and currently have a Pinarello Prince with Campy Record Carbon. Tons of miles on that frame...

Got the Giraud case annealer, a few questions

It depends on how the cases have been cleaned prior. If you have used stainless steel media then you will get hardly any color change in the brass. Whereas if you cleaned with Citranox via ultra-sonic cleaning, your brass will show a definitive color change. If the cases are new and you...

    H4831 for .338LM

H4831 is too fast for the heavy bullets (300gr). It will work for the 250's if that is what you are planning to shoot. As suggested above, if you are shooting the 300gr class of bullets, you are much better off with H1000, Retumbo, etc.

Rifle Scopes Is there an OBJECTIVE rating scale for measuring optics clarity and resolution?

Unfortunately objective testing is reserved for those who have the tools to do so. You can subjectively test a scope and say that this scope seems to have less edge distortion than brand x and that chromatic aberration is better in brand z and resolution is better in brand y and the color is...

Rifle Scopes Trijicon Accupoint - Reticle Color

Your eye is more sensitive to green and for lowlight hunting you'll find the green to be a tad brighter. The mil-dot reticle with the green dot is a great combo.

    F T/R Competition 'Flex' bipod

Re: 'Flex' bipod I have seen this bipod in action and it is really a nice set-up. Dan and I were able to speak about his bipod last summer when we shot together. I think it is a great option for people shooting F/TR, not to mention that Dan is a great person to deal with. Tony

    TSA's Naked Machines are out!

Re: TSA's Naked Machines are out! I was wondering who would be the first to bring up ALARA.... The sad thing is, I saw a pregnant TSA agent standing next to the "naked body scanner" during her shift and obviously she was told that it would be just fine. No thanks, I'm not going to stand...

    TSA's Naked Machines are out!

Re: TSA's Naked Machines are out! Also keep in mind that these are "x-ray" machines. Regardless of what any TSA agent "says" or thinks, the machines emit radiation (duh). As we say at my work, there is no such thing as a good dose of radiation. I have two engineers who work for me (one was...

    .338 Lapua Mag - 300SMK and H1000

Re: .338 Lapua Mag - 300SMK and H1000 Kinda surprised to see this old post up again. Woody - I just talked to a friend of mine and he worked up a load for his Savage and ended up at 91.5 gr of H1000 jumping his bullets about .010". Speed was around 2800fps. No issues with pressure. High...

    1st time load developing blitz

Re: 1st time load developing blitz I would suggest working with one powder and primer combo. Varget will offer great accuracy and it is one of the better powders for the .308. It also is great in temperature extremes. Second, CCI BR2 primers work very well with Varget and would be my first...
