I'm not normally bothered by spiders (and I know that's not actually a true spider) or other creepy-crawleys, but that thing puts a shiver up and down my spine.

It's a horrible looking thing.
Yeah, they’re creepy as shit. I’ve seen a few crawling around some stuff at work and they got a brake cleaner shower

The San Juan's are absolutely beautiful and spend time up there every year.
just looked it up. that place is spectacular.
I used to live 25 miles north of Durango - about 200 yds off Highway 550 with a view of the Hermosas.
I will admit to taking it all for granted while I was there, but miss it terribly now.
id be surprised if a painting doesnt exist of exactly this, gorgeous landscape!
Near Crested Butte CO.

Colorado Fall colors is by far my favorite thing to shoot at. Both subject and camping experience.

The drive from Durango to Ouray …the “Million Dollar Highway “ is one of the coolest
drives in the world 👍

It is beautiful. Back when, our carpool drove it every workday as far as Silverton, from Durango then up Cement Creek to the Sunnyside. Dug holes for gold for 8 hrs then drove back. One day they told us that if the weather is good tomorrow don't come to work, the state was going to do avalanche control. Weather was nice, stayed home, back the next day. They shot but nothing came down. We watched really close for a couple days. There were 86 slide paths between my house and the mine.

Still really beautiful.

Edit: For a nice drive this is a good trip. Take your time, pull over now and then and enjoy it.

Thank you,
MrSmith

LOL. Flat earther bullshit.
Boyles Law. Multiple ATMs, as opposed to a vacuum (1 ATM in the suit). Every 33'= 1ATM. @33' (2 ATM) your air lasts half as long as at the surface. @ 66' your air lasts 1/3 as long as at the surface and at 99' 1/4, and so on. Also a space suit isn't equipped with "air" tanks, but most likely a pure O2 rebreather system scrubbing the CO2, so you could get a ton more time in a lighter, smaller package.

That's actually a technical diving rig (probably a bottom mix on his back too). The two hanging tanks are typically travel mixes or a deco mix to decrease the time of his in water decompression, but it's depth dependent, so it's really irrelevant.

Pictures from a fly fishing trip this past summer taken at the confluence of Bear Creek and the Rio Grande just east of Stony Pass. Rode the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic from Durango to Silverton ten times. During the ride you are generally suffering too much going uphill and focused on the road during descents to enjoy the scenery.

Is that a Brown Recluse? Cuz that’s a good way to know your doctor.

Camel Spider. I caught him In Iraq back in 2005. He's dead in that shot. Had to run after the quick bastard to catch him and step on him. Still didn't kill him till I stuffed him in a Gatorade bottle full of rubbing alcohol. Mailed him home in a CD jewel case. Here he is still alive and kicking in my hooch... Yeah... they get bigger.

"Astronauts Cernan and Schmitt performed the longest single lunar surface excursion at 7 hours, 37 minutes, 22 seconds. They also logged the longest total excursion time on the Moon at 22 hours, 5 minutes, 4 seconds."

So 22 hours total, with time in the LEM there Nah'mi, not all out on the surface.

Check Joe's pants, I wonder who his tailor is. He must be expecting a flood; we used to call them 'Highwater's..

My dad was in Oman and Aden in the 60/70s and he'd to tell us about the camel spiders reckoned they used shovels as stomping wasn't effective on them. When I finally saw a real one i thought even a shovel length was too close. Artillery or an air strike for me.

A woman heard barking outside her home, and she knew it wasn’t coming from her dogs, an Arizona shelter said.

So she looked at her surveillance camera and watched as a Weimaraner mix chased a cat underneath her 1967 Chevy Nova on Jan. 19 in Phoenix, the Arizona Humane Society told McClatchy News in an email.

But she never saw the dog come out.

When she went outside to investigate, she saw the animal’s foot and tail hanging out from underneath the vehicle, a spokesperson said.

Nova, a Weimaraner-mix, is seen trapped in the engine of a 1967 Chevy Nova on Jan. 19 in Phoenix.

The 49-pound animal had “wedged herself deep into the engine area” of the Chevy, and she couldn’t get out, the shelter said in a Jan. 29 news release.

Rescuers slowly pulled her out of the engine, freeing her within 15 minutes. The animal was taken to a hospital where she had some wounds on her ears but was “otherwise healthy overall,” the shelter said.
