This must be why I don’t have any money.

This thing is ridiculous. Rang the steel 12x16 inch plate at 506 and 778 yards with so much ease it should be criminal.

Went out to the property last week to feed the animals and had a few shots with my Son.

Excellent choice

(Sips with pinky out)

What caliber did you choose? Hopefully you made the right choice with 300NM

You’re going to love it man.
As much I love my AX, I had to get the axsr to complete my AI collection. I mean gotta have AI in short and long action. EO gave me a package deal actually that I couldn’t resist. DE axsr 338 Norma, DE 300 Norma barrel, and TT 7-35 jtac ret. I originally wanted a axsr in 300 nm which we’re out of stock. So I had to go with the sr in 338 nm and get the 300 nm barrel. The scope? Well that wasn’t planned as well, but the total package price was more then just fair. Then I pulled the trigger.

That’s an MTM thing made for just that purpose. I have one. I don’t use the top. It’s pretty awesome, especially if you don’t have space to place a garbage can under the muzzle. Like if you have a long bench or something.

Mainly nice because you don’t have to fish a patch out of the garbage or carefully take it off the jag to look at it so see how clean it is etc.

Forgive me if this has been asked, but has anyone opened up their AT-XC bolts for short action magnums yet? If so, what mags and calibers are you running? I know folks have been converting the AT and AXSA for a while (I owned one).

I’d doubt it as there have never been any spare bolts available for the AT-XC that I’ve ever seen.

You’d have to be really, really committed to make your rifle magnum only at this point I’d think.

I can guarantee that if you get rid of the AI there will be a point that you wish you had kept it

I agree. I've been there myself multiple times now because I like punishment, LOL.

Definitely no XC bolts, and from the sound of it, none expected in the next year either, due to contracts.

At some point the AT-XC owners will realize that they just got a gen 4 AT-X, along with all of the promised support the previous generations of the AT-X got too. However, the didn't have to source a few of the niceties that most of us gen 1-3 guys had to hunt for. However it cost them ~$600 more for AI to do it.

Everywhere else you bundle and save. AI you bundle and spread cheeks. :D

Fritz at Black Canyon Customs. They do conversions

Yeh I knew they were the ones doing the most recent conversions that I had heard about. I may just slap a poor mans AI together and put a Zeus in an atx chassis. Even with the extra bolt and 2 barrels I'd likely be cheaper than buying another atxc.

No lies detected. But, as always, we can remain dubiously hopeful lol.

My AT-X is currently wearing its 6CM barrel at the moment and is adorning my kitchen table in hopes to stick a 108 ELD-M into a coyote this evening.

I'm not a hater of the product at all. I just don't like the game.

I love hunting with my AXSA. 6creed 108ELDM at 3010-3020. Fox was 450 yards. Coyote was 525.
I didn’t want to bounce a new Denali through a chiesel plowed field, so I walked out to get it. Man, that was a f-in hike in full winter gear carrying a 35lb dog. I drive to them from now on 😂

More posts and stories like these please. And are you loading for those 108's at those speeds?

Nope, those are factory loads. The factory Hornady 108s shoot extremely well too, and the speed is pretty good. It took about 160 rounds for this barrel to stabilize and get to that speed. Its the factory win tac barrel, i think its a 26".

I am loading for berger 105 hybrids at 3050. They are lights out. I have not hunted with them yet. I have great luck with the hornady 108's. I've only had one runner. Not sure how the hybrids will expand at 500Y. Ill have to try it.

My factory 6CM barrel shot the factory Hornady 108s into about a half inch during break in. So I figured I'd give them a solid chance during load development.

I used Peterson brass, and had read about reduced case capacity and early pressure, so I started way low.

I popped quite a few groups in the 3/8" and under from 38.0 - 39.5 range of H4350 as I carefully worked my way up. From 39.7 - 40.7 things got erratic, but then came back together at 41.0gr...so much for pressure concerns, not a sign at all and I'm generally pretty conservative.

41.0 gave me my smallest group ever at 650 when I trued velocity - just under 2"

^ Probably a fluke, and I'll admit it.

I came down a tenth, held. 2 more for wind, and immediately re-shot it to confirm. Looks like I needed to come down another tenth.

^ That puts my velocity at 3,050-3,060 IIRC.

I did not have a very good experience with my first AI barrel, but this 6CM one hammers.

Currently, I've been using a rebarreled FN SPR in 6.5x47L with 130gr ELD-M to dispatch most of the critters this past fall and winter. I'm about 20 coyotes in, and have been extremely impressed with the terminal performance.

Now it is time for me to test the 108s in 6CM. I'm getting ahead of myself though and having a second 6CM barrel spun up for another rifle to do the same.

Just wanted to take a moment to give a shout out to Sporting Services UK.

Late last year I picked up the 1.6mm SFP 308 and 300WM bolt bodies and put a 338L SFP bolt body on backorder for my AXMC figuring it would be easy to just get a 1.6mm firing pin and swap it onto my current bolt shroud and save a couple hundred bucks compared to buying a complete 308 SFP bolt assembly with firing pin and shroud.

Called Mile High and Euro Optic to buy a bare 1.6mm AXMC firing pin and was told by both that AINA did not have a part number for the bare 1.6mm firing pin and I would have to buy a complete 308 SFP bolt assembly or a 1.6mm SFP bolt shroud assembly to get the 1.6mm firing pin. I even asked Mile High how they would replace a damaged 1.6mm AXMC firing pin if it was a warranty issue and they said they would have to source a complete firing pin and shroud assembly from AINA. Not what I wanted to hear having already purchased the bare 308 and 300WM SFP bolt bodies with the 338L SFP bolt body on backorder.

I got in contact with Graeme at Sporting Services at the end of December, who in turn contacted AI UK, who then confirmed that there was no part number to sell just the 1.6mm AXMC SFP by itself. However, Graeme went the extra mile and managed to get AI UK to create a new part number in their system to sell just the bare 1.6mm AXMC firing pin by itself. It took until today for them to get here (5 months isn't a bad wait for special order AI parts direct from the UK honestly, lol) but not only did Sporting Services save me some money I now have a couple of spare 1.6mm AXMC firing pins in my parts stash.

Those guys are seriously awesome. Love them.
