    Re: I want a .45 tactical compact...your thoughts Another vote for the HK 45c with a factory threaded barrel. Pretty close to the maxing our your budget, but an excellent weapon that can do everything you are looking for and do it well.

    Re: FFP or SFP Scope. Yes FFP has worked well for me. It makes ranging easier. I tend to stay in the upper range of magnification, but if you go FFP take time to look at different reticule options. At the low end of the scope, some reticules are very hard for me to see well.

    Re: sIG P220 COMBAT I have found the P220 45 to be the most accurate Sig in my hands. If you are OK with the DA/SA trigger setup, the P220 is a fine handgun. Try to get a gun with the SRT (short reset trigger). It dramatically improves follow up shots.
