Gunsmithing parting tool vs. hack/band saw for cutting barrel?

Re: parting tool vs. hack/band saw for cutting barrel? 416 can vary from vendor to vendor, no doubt, btdt. Carpenter and Crucible make the most homogenous stuff..I find the internal machining of 416 vs CM lends to longer tool life, better surface finish prior to polishing..But 4140-45-50...

Gunsmithing Bedding Question, Devcon not curing?

Re: Bedding Question, Devcon not curing? mix up some small batches of different ratios and see how they set up, but you probably could use a little more hardener if it's still soft. We used Devcon in Scotland where it was humid and cold, and it still set up fine..

    Gunsmithing Rebarrel 300 win

Re: Rebarrel 300 win If Benchmark rebarrels it, perhaps they could true the barrel nut shoulder for future endeavours. It shouldn't matter much whether the nut is there or not for a standalone rifle, but if they made certain it was squared it could come in handy for switch barrel projects later?
