    Rnd count improving accuracy??

Re: Rnd count improving accuracy?? I first thought it was me. As you stated, "getting used to the rifle". But the grouping both these rifles would produce were multiple inches at 200 yards (2-3). I could use the GAP and produce .5 at 200. Then pick up another and shoot a 2.5" group with the...

    Rnd count improving accuracy??

I have two rifles that seemed to have improved with round count. One is a AR, custom built years ago for NRA match. The accuracy (grouping) sucked, but improved over time and count. at around 150, it began to show promise, then around 200 it really shined. Another bolt gun in .308, was very...

    Sako TRG Bipod

Re: Sako TRG Bipod I guess I've always been someone that doesn't want to do anything to equipment that can't be "undone". Hence, the O ring. It can be easily undone, nothing is permanent. As to the feet, I took a piece of automotive fuel tubing (about 1.5 inches) and sliced it open, then used...

    Sako TRG Bipod

Re: Sako TRG Bipod TonyC, This is how I changed the bipod. It made things a lot more stable. Of course you can try different O rings of various thicknesses to achieve the "feel" you want. I cut a slight V into the ring so that the bolt would go through both parts. Otherwise I couldn't align them.

    TRG,,, what weight bullets?

Those that reload for their TRG 22, what weight of bullets does the rifle seem to prefer? do you change to a different bullet for different distances? (X upto 500 yards, Y beyond 500) Thanks

    Rifle Scopes MOA and/or MIL

Re: MOA and/or MIL The answer to Shane45 question about Nikon Mil, well, I went and looked at the scope and now have another question. This is something I assumed, (flog me later), why do scope manufacturers place Mildot reticles in Tactical scopes , but place MOA adjustment knobs? Do I range...

    Rifle Scopes MOA and/or MIL

Re: MOA and/or MIL Yes it was more "hypothetical" than actual use. I have three NF's in MOA and One Nikon MIL. I just began to ponder the option of "would it work" just to simplify things. However, after reading the reply from "ratbert", I think a chart on the side of the butt would support...

    Rifle Scopes MOA and/or MIL

I am probably over thinking this, but I need to ask. Since both MOA and MIL scaled scopes are ranged estimated or scaled based on a specific magnification that is usually marked on the scope, is it possible to actually change the scaled magnification measurements from one to the other simply by...

    Gunsmithing TRG trigger

Re: TRG trigger I just have a problem understanding the extremely long travel of the first stage. I'm surprised that Sako didn't add that type of adjustment to the trigger anyway. It appears it would be easy to do, and the first stage basically appears to do nothing within the trigger...

    Gunsmithing TRG trigger

Is it possible to adjust/modify the TRG trigger to remove the miles of first stage travel? yet still have it be reversible (back to OEM when wanted).

    New laws?

Need clarification (if anyone knows) about new laws coming Sept. 1st for Texas. Specifically this one, SB 1188 authorizes a Texas resident to buy firearms, ammunition or firearms accessories in any other state, not just those contiguous to Texas, to reflect updated federal statutes. Does...

    Sako TRG Bipod

Re: Sako TRG Bipod I haven't had a lot of time behind the TRG and Sako pod (yet), but right away I didn't like the ability of the rifle to "cant" on its own, and inability to lock it down. I ended up placing an "O" ring between the two bipod parts. It applies enough pressure that it stops the...

Rifle Scopes what size BC scope caps

Re: what size BC scope caps I saw that already, but the BC site list the # 51 dimensions that are way too large as compared to what the bell has been measured on the actual scope

Rifle Scopes what size BC scope caps

Because I hate to have to return stuff, can some one tell me with confidence what size of BC caps fit the NF NFX 5.5 - 22 X56? I'm guessing a #18 oc. and a #48 obj. Am I correct?

    Winchester 52 E

Re: Winchester 52 E doc, sorry , I got mixed up on the trigger. Your right, Some did come with the Kenyon triggers. Others had the factory winchester (which by no means is shabby). I'm not sure which this one has nor how to determine. Whichever it is, It's the best trigger I've used period...

    Winchester 52 E

Re: Winchester 52 E Doc, I shot NRA "across the course" matches many years back. The .22 rimfire matches were run the same as the high power, only using the 22 of your choice. I started with the Winchester 52E but changed to a Anschutz, then back to the Winchester. When I started shooting...

    Winchester 52 E

Re: Winchester 52 E thanks for the "thoughts". No I don't need to sell it. (could use the extra room in the safe). But since I don't shoot .22 matches anymore, the thought of selling/trading has constantly crossed my mind. This rifle is pure factory, and a pleasure to shoot, but at around 11...

    Winchester 52 E

Re: Winchester 52 E I wouldn't mind selling it if I knew I could replace it later. But the fact that I've never seen another one causes me to pause. I've "kicked" myself more than once on other firearm sales. Just as soon as I got the money, the remorse started. Rimfire central is where I...
