    Re: which caliber would you choose for long range? I'm really sold on my .260 Improved. Very similar velocities to the 6.5-284 with less powder. Easy to load...plenty of brass around and those 140 VLD's really buck the wind.

    Re: savage help please As long as you have a "go gage" for your chosen round, some tools ( action vise and barrel nut wrench) and patience...it will only take you minutes to headspace and secure the nut...after that..put the barreled action in the stock and you're done. Wayne
