    40X vs 541T vs Model 82 Gov

Does the 541T have the same footprint as the 700, i.e. can I drop it into the same stocks? Would I be able to get a new bolt, or easily find a scope mount for it if I wanted to switch away from peep sights? I probably won't ever take this new rifle hunting, and I may shoot the occasional...

    40X vs 541T vs Model 82 Gov

I'm looking for a quick primer on the Remington 40x and 541T rifles, as well as the Kimber Model 82 Government. Down and dirty, pros, cons, which one is better in bed, etc...

Frustrated with Hornady LNL Auto Charge

My Chargemaster 1500 combo has been very stable. I have the two big 50g calibration weights that came with it, and I also bought an extra set of small check weights that I use occasionally to verify the scale readings. Mine also sits on a grounded anti-static mat (you can buy those pretty...

7.62x54R reloads. what do you like to use?

My buddy has just started reloading for his Nagant. He's using IMR 4064, because that's all he could find on the shelves here, and 190gr Sierra flat base soft point bullets. Groups with the handloads were consistently better than Sellier & Bellot or Winchester factory ammo, but he didn't...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Looking for a good karambit

So I've been playing Splinter Cell lately, and I'm convinced the only reason I'm not a super duper secret agent is because I don't have a karambit. That's the only reason I'm not opening Amazon packages like an operator. So, who makes a good quality karambit? Let's define good as 'better...

Moving from TX to CA for job - considering selling firearms due to laws there...

I hope you got offered good money, between the shenanigans and the cost of living there.

For you guys with a Tavor - how do you like them?

From what I've read, IWI opened up a stateside factory to produce these so they could use our foreign aid money on them (apparently our foreign aid money goes out with the condition it be used to purchase U.S. manufactured products). So it's technically discounted just by not having to be...

    XLR??? Where?

I've always gotten timely responses from Kyle, and resolutions to any issues I've had (lost screws, wanted to buy a new part, etc...). You've got to have realistic expectations about getting a response from a shop where they're focused on output. Let's not forget, too, that Kyle is actually a...

    Ar308 jam

Is the case stuck in the chamber, or is it extracting from the chamber, and just not ejecting? I had issues similar to this with my MATEN, and the fix was just to break it in. I spent a lot of time talking to Mega about the barrel, Seekins about the adjustable gas block, and in the end, I...

Converting .308 Win to 6.5 Creedmoor - Mission (almost) Accomplished!

It's a Hornady head space gage. Sinclair (aka Brownells) also makes them.

Converting .308 Win to 6.5 Creedmoor - Mission (almost) Accomplished!

I found some Black Hills .308 brass while I was cleaning out the closet, so I deprimed it and ran it through the annealer. Next it's a quick wash in the SS tumbler and into the dies once it's dry.

Converting .308 Win to 6.5 Creedmoor - Mission (almost) Accomplished!

About 7 seconds. I painted a stripe of 650*F Tempilaq on the case and set up my Giraud so it indicates just below the shoulder and no further. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Converting .308 Win to 6.5 Creedmoor - Mission (almost) Accomplished!

First, if you're going to offer alternatives, I'm not interested. I've done a fair bit of reading on this over the past week, and every thread has got a few from the peanut gallery. "Why don't you just buy the brass?" or "Start with a different case!" I've got plenty of Hornady ammo and virgin...

Converting .308 Brass To 6.5 Cm - Necking down?

Actually, it turns out that I can run the .308 case up into the Creedmoor body die.

Converting .308 Brass To 6.5 Cm - Necking down?

Converting .308 Brass To 6.5 Cm - Necking down? The issue of necking down hasn't come up in my searches, that's my main point of concern here. The methods covered in detail are on necking up from a smaller caliber. As far as 22-250 brass, I don't care about that or any other caliber brass...

Converting .308 Brass To 6.5 Cm - Necking down?

Any thoughts on necking down brass? I have Redding Type S bushing dies for both .308 and 6.5. I'm not quite confident about just running the .308 brass right into a 6.5 die to neck it down in one step, even with annealing first. Is there an intermediate caliber die I can buy to neck down? I...

Does anyone work on Mosin Nagants? Re-barreling, etc...

A buddy of mine really loves him some Mosin Nagant and wants to sporterize one. Are there any smiths out there who work on Nagants? He wants to have the receiver trued (as much as can be done on a Nagant), and a new barrel installed. I suggested he buy a takeoff Remington barrel, or...

    I miss Brunhilda

The bolt has been pulled and the handle welded into place. I can finally get around to breaking Brunhilda in!

    6.5 Creedmoor Brass

So, in this case, if I were to use a Redding 6.5 Creedmoor bushing die with the bushing removed, I'd accomplish the same thing, i.e. pushing the shoulder back without reducing the neck.
