    Red tac bean bags

Any of you guys use them? I just got mine from triad and it almost seems too tall to use in the prone position. I haven't shot it yet but it looks like the barrel isn't high enough to shoot a taller target. Your thoughts/ experience?

    Gunsmithing McMillian stock texture

You can use devcon or marine text as well. Use a brush or Popsicle stick to raise the texture. May be easier to match it with this method.

    Gunsmithing Remington 700 stiff bolt

I'll give that a shot thanks. I read a lot of folks polish the cocking cam too. Has anyone put lapping compound on the cocking cam surface and worked the bolt a few times?

    Gunsmithing Remington 700 stiff bolt

Nah it's not the paint. I removed the paint on the bearing surfaces. Like I said its only when I cock the firing pin that I really have to man handle it. After the trigger is pressed I can literally lift up the rifle by the bolt handle without it camming over. Is that a normal amount of force...

    Gunsmithing Remington 700 stiff bolt

It did make contact when i first got it but it's not the culprit. If the firing pin is cocked I can lift and lower the bolt handle no problem. It's after I pull the trigger it takes a ridiculous amount of effort to lift the handle. Almost like it's too heavy of a firing pin spring.. It actually...

    Gunsmithing Remington 700 stiff bolt

Hey guys I just got a remington 700 AAC-sd. 60 rounds down the pipe so far and 200 dry fires or so. The bolt is still reeeally stiff. Only after I pull the trigger though and lift the bolt handle. I have to really muscle it to lift the bolt handle. Any ideas? I pulled the bolt apart and cleaned...

Does kmw still make this bolt knob?

It's $125 for install, bolt knob and cerekote. Yes, it's a little pricier, but he scallops the handle to blend it with the bolt knob. Looks really well done. Here's Terry's work:

Does kmw still make this bolt knob?

Got a hold of Terry at kmw. What an awesome guy. He explained how he does it and threads it further up the bolt handle, and said hed even take pics of the next one he does for my buddy who is threading my handle. I like the look of the older one better but the new style is growing on me. Picking...

Has anyone stoned a remington 700 trigger?

I stone and polish all my other triggers but just got a 700 so have never done a trigger like this. Any good tutorials out there on it? I adjusted the weight but read that a new spring and stoning the sides etc will make the pull even better. And funds are tight so no I can't just go get a Jewell :)

New AAC SD .308 Vertical stringing BIGTIME

What are you using for a rear bag? Are you putting more pressure on the stock maybe after each shot? Only thing I can think of. I just got an AAC-as too and it's shooting sub moa with just a b&c stock. It's my first bolt action so I'm sure it's more capable than I am at this point.

Groups from my first time shooting a bolt action

Oh I know, I'd planned on getting badger rings anyway though. A buddy have me these ones. You know what I realized too. Rookie move. I was prone shooting at a tall target and I didn't extend my bipod all the way out so, not thinking, I tried to lower the rear instead of raise the front hah. I...
