What neck sizing bushing to use for 6.5 creedmoor

You measure the neck of a case with the bullet seated. Then deduct .002 for the neck tension. The bushing size depends on the brass you are using. As an example, I measured a factory Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor case with the 147 gr. ELD Match bullet seated. The loaded round measured .290 at the...

Is "Redding Competition Bushing 3- Die Neck Sizer Set" good?

You may have to buy the dies separately, because of the current demand. I use a Redding Competition micrometer seating die...because I like the easy adjustability with the hash marks and numbers. For resizing I use the Redding full length S resizing die which uses a bushing for the neck. I...

What do you think of my 45 load?

Should be good. I also use 5.5 grs. Win. 231 under a 230 gr. Speer Gold Dot. I use the Large Pistol CCI primers in both Winchester and Speer brass and shoot this load in a Colt 1911. Runs around 850 ft/sec. but I haven't chronoed any pistol loads for years.

    Micrometers and calipers?

I've got Starrett. Very pleased with them.

If you have the time, catch me up on the last 10 years? :)

Don't believe the propaganda. The .308 is not hated...it's just not used for the "games" because of the recoil. It has it's place. That said, my new rifle build is my first 6.5 Creedmoor...not for games, just because I had to see for myself what all the fuss was about.

    Blue mountain precision!!!!

Yes, he does a great job. I purchased a pre-fit from Eric at Blue Mountain. It was for an Impact action also and received super fast service. Then that blankety blank UPS guy left my barrel at somebody else's house...had to chase it down. LOL. I just got my Bix'n Andy Tacsport Pro from Short...

    Shipping a rifle?

Take it to FFL and pay him the USPS shipping cost plus his $25 fee. That's what I did after Fed Ex wanted nearly $200 to ship a handgun. A few weeks before, Fed Ex charged me just under $100 to ship a rifle I sold, and that was shipping ground, not next day. I wish I would have thought of...

    Seekins coupons/ reviews

Very crisp. I like it, but I've not tested the weight or adjusted it at all. For a field rifle, I don't think I'd want it any lighter.

    Seekins coupons/ reviews

No coupons, but my Seekins Havak PH2 is superbly accurate. With five .308 rounds in the mag, and Seekins aluminum low rings, a nylon sling, and a Nightforce 2.5-10x42 it weighs a hair over 9 pounds. Nicely portable.

Preferred NF reticle for a range/hunting rifle?

I've gone back and forth studying the Mil-R versus the Mil-C photos, but I like the open, uncluttered crosshair intersection on the Mil-R best. So, that is what I have in my Nightforce scopes. I can see that the Mil-C might be a bit quicker for ranging, though, with those extra hash marks.

Rifle Scopes Leupold Vari-x III 3.5-10x 40mm Tactical scopes ever used on M24 military rifles?

I believe these were tagged as 3.5-10x40 LR scopes with M1 or M3 turrets. The M3 version had some extra elevation dials to match ballistics for .300 mag with a 190 SMK and some others for .308 and I don't recall what else without digging them out of storage. The M3 had one inch per click...

    223 trim length

I trim to 1.750 inch after resizing in two steps. I size the neck down to .250 inch first, then full size the case with the neck going to .244 inch. I'm using bushing Redding dies. For trimming I'm using the Giraud tri-way cutter fixed to a drill chuck mounted on an upside down salvaged...

    Seekins HAVAK Precision Rifle

Since you're conversing on the Havak... a couple of months ago, I gave myself one for a retirement gift, the Havak Pro Hunter II. I didn't really want spiral fluting, but it has grown on me to the point that I don't mind it now. I am very interested in 6.5 Creedmore, but since I have been set...

Rifle Scopes Settle this Minute Of Angle Discussion

Gents: For the sake of simplicity, I will use shooter's minute of angle of 1 inch at 100 yards, 2 inches at 200 etc. With a 1/4 inch at 100 yards adjustment, I move the elevation turret 13 clicks up for 300 yards on a Leupold. The value of each click is .75 inches at this range so the...
