Which light weight 308 barrel should I get, BSF carbon fiber or Faxon pencil?

Do you think one barrel shoots better groupings then the other? Or it doesn't really matter because both barrels will shoot about the same? So you paid over $300 bucks more because something was out of stock? I know it seems cool to get a carbon fiber barrel, but if it really doesn't offer...

Which light weight 308 barrel should I get, BSF carbon fiber or Faxon pencil?

I want to build an Ar-10 light weight battle rifle off of an Aero Precision M5 upper and lower. I narrowed the barrel choices down to a BSF carbon fiber barrel which weighs 28 oz with fluting cost = $600 https://www.bsfbarrels.com/product-page/308 Or a Faxxon 308 pencil barrel for $259...

Fix It Sticks - kit worth it?

Based on that article I might just get the Wheeler Fat torque screw driver. Maybe I will decide in the future when I start to shoot more and want better accuracy.

Gunsmithing Does the rail need to line up perfectly straight? AR15 build question, should I worry?

I see your point. Yeah, I may get a different linear compensator for this gun.

Fix It Sticks - kit worth it?

Does anyone know the real deal here between the borka vs the fix it sticks? which one is better? Everyone seems to recommend both, but the fix it sticks gets recommended more. I'm leaning on the borka because its cheaper and I can fine tune my torque increments. Which one of these kits is...

Gunsmithing Does the rail need to line up perfectly straight? AR15 build question, should I worry?

I would like like your thoughts here, I built a 300 blackout rifle with an 8" Vseven barrel. Using an Aero precision rail and upper receiver. I am using a blast can and the rail opening is only about 1.2mm wider than the blast can. This would give me about .6 mm on both sides of the muzzle...

Cleaning question. Should last patch be dry or wet?

Would like your opinion on this. Should the last patch you run down your gun be completely dry, or should it be a little wet with oil? I read that you can damage the barrel if there is too much oil in the barrel, but I don't know what constitutes too much. Will applying oil to the last patch...

Will different types of bullets need adjustment left or right?

Everything else being equal, will different bullets shoot left and right differently? When I say different, I mean like will 145 grain bullets shoot differently than 168 grain bullets. I know that the they will shoot higher and lower differently. But is it normal for them to also shoot left...

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

I'm thinking. My last 3 shots with the 145 ammo had one shot really far off to the right, and I know that was impossible as I had the gun very centered on target. Then my next 3 shots with 168 match ammo were really off. Unless there is something wrong with the ammo, I really wonder what is...

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

With the parallax, I just set it to 300 yards and it looked clear. I tested the 300 yards with my GPS. I must admit that is all I have done. The way I figured is, I am just trying to hit paper at 300 yards. If parallax is set close and not changed, wouldn't my groupings be OK? I mean, will a...

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

I have another question and decided to post this separately from above. After shooting those groups which roughly gave me 6" from each other I loaded my gun with PPU match 168 Grain ammo, package says HP BT. Anyway, I shot 3 shots with everything the same as my last 3 shots above. I thought...

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

Shot 12 rounds and here are the results. First I found and lugged a huge piece of heavy board I found about a mile in the hot desert. I am serious about finding out where my shots went, so I decided to lug this heavy thing in 90 degree sun. Next time I'm going to bring water. This time I...

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

Hey guys, I'm going to go out today again and try a some more shots at 300 yards. This time I will bring some PPU 168 grain match ammo. I will also shoot the PPU non-match ammo that I have been and compare. I watched a few you tube vidoes so I hope to shoot a little better this time. I was...

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

I agree I am going to reduce my shots to 100 yards. It will be easier also to check my targets until I am consistent at that point. I have been watching some youtube videos on how to shoot properly and I am really doing nothing correct. I am going to try and work on these things.

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

I do agree that it is probably mostly my bad marksmanship, I have no doubt about that. However, I will retry at 100 yards and work my way out. Can someone tell me roughly if I get say 2" groups at 100 yards, what that will equate to at 300 yards? I also have the option to break out my...

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

I didn't want to add these things because from my knowledge other people are able to hit coke cans with the gun at 300 yards. That being said, I figured I should at least get 10" groups 100% of the time. I'm using a scar 17s, 308, with vortex viper scope, laying in prone position. I thought...

300 yards shooting is all over the place.

I'm shooting out to 300 yards and it seems that some of my shots hit close to center, some don't hit the target at all. Some shots are 5 inches from each other, some 10 inches or more. Basically my shots are all over the place but some do hit close to center. What is the best way to...

    First time out to 300

I have a lot to learn. I honestly just propped up my gun on a huge dirt mound to be able to hit a target out to 300 yards. The wind was pretty bad that day also. I hit about 80% of a 10"x15" paper target. most shots were low-right. The wind was blowing to the right, so I assume maybe it was...

    First time out to 300

I just shot out to 300 yards. I've only just started long range shooting and shot maybe 50 rounds so far. The hardest thing about 300 yards is keeping the scope centered on the target. Any movement will throw you off, the wind hitting you will also move the cross hair.
