Caliber choice for .284 barrel blank

Re: Caliber choice for .284 barrel blank Correct, I like 280AI you get a little more volume than a .284 win and it feeds like a dream, also no loss in magazine capacity, I'm building one in a Howa la over 3.5" mag length with a Hart 1-8 for the berger's 180

    Gunsmithing Reamer Speed

Re: Reamer Speed your stated speed of 45 rpm will cut chrome moly great but the s.s. barrels usually cut better faster like the other guys stated. I can "feel" the flutes filling up your experience may differ but others have agreed with this. Also I've spoken with other smiths that have...

O.k. I've got the pull weight down to 3.5 lbs but there is still a little creep, when I decrease the engagement the safety doesn't work anybody know what I'm talking about? I've disassembled the trigger and it looks like if I stone it in a jig to decrease engagement the safety might still work...

Too Neck Turn or Not To Neck Turn??

Re: Too Neck Turn or Not To Neck Turn?? Do you mean 3/4" or 3/4 M.O.A.? at 300 because 3/4 m.o.a. at 300 is close to 2.25". So if you are shooting for .5 m.o.a. and your shooting 3/4" you have exceeded your standard my friend.
