    Slik Sprint Pro is what I use...but mine is for hunting, mainly. Couple it with a good pan/ball head and you'll be lovin' it. They're super affordable.

    Looks to me like something is mechanically fucked up. Check bases, ring tightness, chassis fit, look for a binding mag box, crown, etc... I'd also dump the rig back into the Sendero stock and see what happens, as most factory Senderos shoot really well.

    Way cool! Nice work... If it were me, I wouldn't bother with a heavy tube and chunkier stock when he gets older. A well bedded gun with a good barrel will shoot lights out, regardless of barrel diameter. A light, well balanced rifle is going to make the hunting all that much more enjoyable...

    If I were trying to go under 7, the last thing I would do is stick a NF up top and hang a bipod off the front. Balance is more important than weight, and neither of those things would contribute one bit to a balanced hunting rifle.

    Who has custom 243 bolt guns??

    Thanks Turbo, it's a sweet little rig undoubtedly. It comes with me in the truck and on hikes mostly everywhere.... Next rifle I build will be a heavy 243 AI. It's simply an absolutely nasty little round and does a lot more than most folks would expect.
