    6.5x47

Gentleman's...My first 6.5x47 will be done this weekend. Need some educated opinions on load data. The gun has a 29" Bartlein 1-8.5 twist. I have 123gr. Scenars to start with and Varget and H4831SC for powder. Just looking for some starting loads, I can work them up from there.

    Gunsmithing GAP Build

Re: GAP Build Just out of curiosity, why do you need GAP to do it? There are plenty of good gunsmiths around who can build it for a fraction of the cost of GAP. In my opinion, you could probably get better quality than GAP for a lesser price. GAP isn't the end all, be all when it comes to...

Suppressors Benelli Vinci or SBEII ?

Re: Benelli Vinci or SBEII ? I do not care for the SBE2, but to say that they are horrible shotguns is ludicrous! They are one of, if not the most prominent shotguns in the duck blind right now. Like I said before I have owned 2 of them and just sold the last one. I do not care for them at...

Suppressors Benelli Vinci or SBEII ?

Re: Benelli Vinci or SBEII ? Well the first two major differences are, the SBE2 is 3.5" and the Vinci is 3". I would personally never buy another SBE2 after owning two of them, primarily for ducks. There are much better shotguns out there for far less money than the Benelli. Benelli is...

Gunsmithing Question about action and barrel support...

Guys I just had a 6.547L built. I used a Surgeon RSR (short round) action, and a Bartlein straight 1.250, no taper barrel finished at 29." Now, my question is...Will my Surgeon action support the weight of the barrel if I decide to free float the barrel completely? I am worried about the rear...

Finally a build of my own!!! 6.5 Grendel

Re: Finally a build of my own!!! 6.5 Grendel As you said, as long as it can keep the bullet supersonic and stable to that distance, you should be good to go. I would imagine the 22" barrel would help with the velocity, compared to some of the shorter Alexander Arms setups.

Finally a build of my own!!! 6.5 Grendel

Re: Finally a build of my own!!! 6.5 Grendel Mark, I would be interested to know how the grendel performs out to 1200 yards...I would tend to think that although you reap the benefits of the 6.5mm bullets and the high BC's, performance would be lost due to the relatively small case capacity...
