    Thanks for all the great info. The rifle I'm working with right now is just a stock sps varmint .308 in a manners stock. Have seen people get some good results with factory barrel,just hope I am one of those guys.

    I have the X-mark trigger on my Rem.700. I am wanting to adjust it but don't know if it will adjust like old style. Its not XMark Pro with set screw in trigger, just said X-Mark on the tags. Looks similar to old style. Thanks

    Barrel Length?

    What is the best barrel length for a 30-06. Been looking at Rem 700 long Range which has 26" rem/var contour barrel. Would be used for whitetail, and paper punching out to 800yds. If I get it would like to cut barrel down,just don't know he much to take off.Thanks

    Guy at work has a Rem. 700P barreled action for sale. How can I tell the diffrence between a 700Varmint and 700 police? It was in an HS stock, but I have a varmint in one as well. Is there any difference? Thanks

    Rifle Scopes 1" inch ring inserts

    Sorry for typo. Going to buy 30mm rings but want to use Nikon till I get scope I want. Which has 30mm tube. Just seeing if the 1" ring inserts are OK. Shooting .308 so recoil is mild. Thanks guys for the info so far

    Are ring inserts OK to use? If so what brand do you all recomend? Have Nikon scope with 1" inch tube but the scope I plan getting will have 30 km tube. Just wondering if the inserts would be OK. Thanks
