Rifle Scopes S & B still "Gold Standard?"

I would agree. One would think that a scopes mechanical precision and repeatability, or lack or it, would be a Go / No Go determinant. Yet, it's not often mentioned - even by many here on this site. Just take a look at the number of posts with guys raving about what great glass their new...

    Best factory brass for reloading

Re: Best factory brass for reloading Most feel that Lapua is top of the heap. Winchester is an excellent factory brass. Federal is pretty good if you can get it cheap / or free since many people don't seem to want to mess with it.

New barrel, When to ladder test?

Re: New barrel, When to ladder test? Should work out just fine. Break it in with the six shots and then run the ladder. Accuracy nodes shouldn't change much... velocities should even out pretty early on, too.

Rifle Scopes My Premier Reticles CS Experience

Re: My Premier Reticles CS Experience No tools are needed, fellas. I 'appropriated' a 4-6" piece of heavy string from my son. Works just like dental floss - slip it under the turret lever and lift up. Non-marking, fast and easy to replace if lost. A small shoe lace would work just as...

Rifle Scopes torque setting for scope & base

Re: torque setting for scope & base Recommended torque specs vary depending on manufacturer, most will be 12-18 in/lb. Do you know which base (manufacturer) you've got? That info would be helpful. The use of loc-tite isn't absolutely necessary on a quality base but it's often used 'just...

Gunsmithing Broke an action screw today.

Re: Broke an action screw today. How 'bout this: 1. Mix up some 5-minute epoxy (found at hardware store). 2. Take a small bolt and epoxy it to the broken action screw. 3. Hold it in place until set. 4. Once the epoxy hardens, back the broken action screw out. Just make sure you only...
