Savage 10fp or Remington sps tac.

Re: Savage 10fp or Remington sps tac. Seems like Remington 700 parts dominate the market in both new and used. With that being said I personally perfer Remington because of it. Though the ease of changing the barrel on a Savage makes it very appealling. You do get what you pay for with...

Rifle Scopes What kind of rings do you suggest?

Re: What kind of rings do you suggest? +1 on the Burris extreme tactical. They are quality ring, very well made, and reasonally priced. I clamped two sets in so far. Both were lapped in and they were pretty much dead nutz from the get go.

Recently purchased a 700 pss in 300 wm. Took it out for its maiden voyage. Was running 168 gr SMK with IMR 4350 pushing out about 3075 fps or so. It was grouping bout .75 at 200 yds. Got some 208 amax and some 210 Bergers. What should I expect? Whats all the hipe about the heaviler...

    Rifle Scopes Scope mount recommendations

I purchased a 700P chambered in 300 wm today. Lookin to put a fairly decent base without braking the bank, however it must have at least a 20 moa cant. I have seemed to narrow it down to three different manufacturers. Guess my question /s is, will the EGW Larue Tactical or TPS mount made of...

    700 SPS v/s 700 P

I am currently in the market for a 700 LA chambered in 300 win mag. Budsgunshop.com has a SPS for $503 and the 700P for something like $880. Going into this I realize the SPS has the pillar bedded Hogue stock and the 700P has the much better H&S stock. How about the rifle barrels. Do...

    Remington 700 SPS DM

Thinking about purchasing a Remington 700 SPS DM in 300 win mag. Budsgunshop.com has them for $553 and they are right up the road. I know the Hogue stocks are basically crap and it will be the first thing to be replaced. I guess my question is about the factory detachable mag. Will they fit...

Re: painting 700 bolt Just got done painting mine. I am not saying I did it right but what I did was. Remove shroud / firing pin assy and the ejector. Blast it with the extractor in place. However I did not blast the bolt face. Then I taped off the bolt about at the lugs and painted the...

Gunsmithing Chucking up factory Remmy barrel in lathe

I was wondering if anyone has any insite about chucking up a factory Remington barrel. My barrel measures .820 at the muzzle and basically has a 2 degree angle from the breech. I am planning on using a blank collet and contouring it to fit the barrel. Anyone have a better way of indicating it...
