Rifle Scopes What kind of rings do you suggest?

Re: What kind of rings do you suggest? +1 on the Burris extreme tactical. They are quality ring, very well made, and reasonally priced. I clamped two sets in so far. Both were lapped in and they were pretty much dead nutz from the get go.

168 Gr SMK v/s 208 Amax v/s 210 Berger

Recently purchased a 700 pss in 300 wm. Took it out for its maiden voyage. Was running 168 gr SMK with IMR 4350 pushing out about 3075 fps or so. It was grouping bout .75 at 200 yds. Got some 208 amax and some 210 Bergers. What should I expect? Whats all the hipe about the heaviler...

Anybody got a current Hornady reloading manual?

Just needing a little information from the Hornady reloading manual. Hornady 208 Amax with IMR 4350 and H1000 propellents. Min and max charge and muzzle velocity.

Gunsmithing Chucking up factory Remmy barrel in lathe

I was wondering if anyone has any insite about chucking up a factory Remington barrel. My barrel measures .820 at the muzzle and basically has a 2 degree angle from the breech. I am planning on using a blank collet and contouring it to fit the barrel. Anyone have a better way of indicating it...
