    .223 primers coming out

Finally getting around to processing some LC once fired and took about 40 rounds to the range yesterday. I'm shooting an AR and the loads are 55 fmj-bt with 25 gr varget (if I recall correctly. I know it's at the bottom end of the load data) and using CCI small rifle primers. While shooting I...

    chronograph shopping

Re: chronograph shopping I have a Shooting Chrony. Overrall I like it, there are better ones out there, but the price is right. I like the remote digital display as it makes recording numbers shot to shot easy. However by making it have compact storage means the screen is a 3 piece snap...

    Hunting & Fishing Barnes bullets

Re: Barnes bullets Since bucks evaded me like the plague this year I can't speak to their stopping power; however, they sure do shoot nice at the range. I have complete confidence in their ability to get to the meat if I do my part right.

Need help with some silver bullets

Re: Need help with some silver bullets Are you talking about .45 ACP or a black powder. On the off chance you were talking about the former just electroplate a FMJ bullet. If the latter, electroplate the lead with copper and then try electroplating silver onto the copper. I don't know if...

    Rifle Scopes Budget Spotting Scope

Re: Budget Spotting Scope That's speaking relative to the price range. I figure I should be able to get something in that price range that can see holes in paper at 200 yards. If I can ever shoot long range at a regular basis than I will consider dropping the big dollars...until then I will...

    Stock suggestion for SPS Varmint

Re: Stock suggestion for SPS Varmint I am very happy with my B&C. It's a little heavier and bulkier than the factory POS stock on the SPS; but, well worth it in both comfort of shooting and accuracy.

    Rifle Scopes Budget Spotting Scope

The Hide has plenty to say about spotting scopes, but tend to focus on the high end. All I need is to see my shot placement at 200 yards as I rarely have opportunity to shoot longer than that. Any thoughts on a good spotting scope in the $200 range?

    Best Gun Safe?

Re: Best Gun Safe? I have been doing a lot of research as well; however, am not ready (fiscally) to take the plunge yet. From my research I was impressed with Sturdy safes as Halvis mentioned. I got a quote on their 32w x 24d x 60x using 3/16 side steel and 5/16 door steel...which is a lot...

    Favorite Brew Thead.

Re: Favorite Brew Thead. +1 on the Belgians especially the Trappist. Mac and Jack is a staple in the greater Seattle area. Can't say enough about Pliny the elder from Russian river brewing. Barney flats oatmeal stout is exceptional. I like to keep some Sierra Nevada pale or Sam Adams Boston...

    Redding Type S match help

Re: Redding Type S match help Thanks guys. So, you are suggesting I cam over a little on the die to get all the way down? I loaded 20 rounds up so I will see if what ZakAttack says plays out.

    Redding Type S match help

Re: Redding Type S match help Well that sucks. I will play around a little more with it to see if I can't get it to work like it should, seems being off about 3/16" there has to be something more than poor quality control.

    best brass...

Re: best brass... My small experience with Winchester as I get into precision reloading is that it is very consistent in weight as well. However, I will still get some Lupua to compare with. But, if all things being equal the Winchester performs as well with the only downfall being that it...

    Redding Type S match help

Just starting to reload .308's and got the Redding Type S Match FL kit. Most everything is going well except for one stuck case (RCBS stuck case remover is awesome BTW). One problem though, the neck is not getting the full lenght resized. The bushing is only getting down to about 80% of the...

.308 Brass, best of the commonly found types?

Re: .308 Brass, best of the commonly found types? I won't comment on others as I'm just starting to work with .308 reloads. My little experience tells me that Winchester is excellent as far as being consistent as all my casings are extremely close in their weight.

Load help for .308 Barnes TripleX

Re: Load help for .308 Barnes TripleX Thanks Chad, I took your advice and called Barnes. I will give them a nod as it took all about a minute on the phone to get transferred to tech support and have them provide an answer without a funny accent. Answer to my question, their data shows load...

    Rifle Scopes Ring Recommendations?

Re: Ring Recommendations? Badger medium rings on a Badger 20 MOA mount with a 6x24 42mm Sightron scope, can't complain at all. I like their close tolerances and that they come in a matched set. As far as help on ring height, you'll need to do some homework. I take the difference between...

Load help for .308 Barnes TripleX

I want to load some .308 Barnes Triple-Shock 168 gr. with H4895. The best load data I have found is from Hodgdon and is based off the Sierra 168 gr. HPBT stating start at 41 gr and max 43.5 gr. Anybody have experience with this load, should I go with the Hodgdon data?

Re: Show me a primer crimp please The dillon super swage works great. Also, Oldreliable, the LC 9mm also has a crimp...again super swage.

    Stuck case

Re: Stuck case Ha ha, sucks to be you. Err, ok, I was there not to long ago, RCBS tool works great, just don't be a moron like me and bend your repriming stem in the process. I use the one shot to clean stuff only, FA for resizing...so far so good for .223.
