New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Sorry for the delay. I got pretty sick yesterday but thank God not covid-19. Medicine and blood pressure made it so I couldn't see the text on my own phone so yesterday was a complete waste.
Several people have messaged offers that would have gone through had I been well. My apologies.
Now I...

I bought some private party 308 brass and about a third of it has an unfired primer of some sort.
All is LRP brass.
Can I anneal with an annealeez safely? I'm expecting no.
If I can't anneal do I just deprime really slowly on the 750?
Can I tumble in corn cob media and not ruin the primers?
I've been through this same trouble.
One of my shell plates did have a wompy station.
I'm getting an annealeez for 308 and sorting all the brass.
Different headstamps need a different adjustment.
If you need 0.002" accuracy for headspace use a Forster single stage.
Bugs flying through the beam at the magic moment can cause that.
Look at the individual shot and check the velocity at the different measurement points.
So a $35 set of 300 black dies jumped in my cart last night. I have black brass and Speer 125 TNTs from my 308.
Never planned to load 300 black but now...
What's the go to powders?
I see H110 show up in searches.
Seems H4198 should be close.
A friend of mine bought CFE black and likes it but...

I found that my #1 shell plate was out of kilter somewhere. Brand new it dragged in one location and I had to set shell plate tension based on that spot. That problem never went away. I was getting 0.015 variation in final sizing (with good brass) and noticed...
The PVA copper hunting bullets should be good but probably too long for the magazine.
Varget for 175gr bullets.
Something a little faster like H4895 for lighter bullets.
4350 is the slowest I would go for 140gr and up.
Anything under 140gr use Varget.
Your brass, chamber, and lugs will benefit from the fast for bullet powders.
130gr pills and 39gr varget with Hornady brass should be ballpark goal.
Work up to that of course.
