Howa 1500 Barreled Actions in .223 Discontinued
There was better pricing? I have to admit I only started looking at them weeks ago and it is definitely a tough pill to swallow at ~$550 when I can get similar complete rifles for $400 and even under depending on brand. What were they going for initially?- BillyNg

My kids don't find shooting fun anymore. Living in the greater NYC area, I have to drive a little over an hour to get to our outdoor range and the rules and target options mean my kids can either punch paper slowly, or we can bust up some clays at the shotgun range which one of them likes but...- BillyNg

I wanted to follow up on this thread. I just needed to say, MDT Josh is right. Couple of interesting points: 1) The rail on my Impact Precision 787R isn't perfectly level front to back. With the rifle stationary, I get slightly different readings from a bubble level at the front of the rail...- BillyNg

Wow, thank you all for the nice words. As far as learning to sew, I took an old t-shirt that was done-for, and started playing. Youtube was a great help for things like zippers and what different thread is for. The Jason of All Trades has a good channel for sewing guy stuff...- BillyNg

Rear Bag
Very unexciting to most, but as my first ever sewing project beyond basic clothing repair for my family, I built a rear bag tonight and am quite proud of it. Picatinny Rail that works with 10-32 ButtonHead Screws
Have a new SAC-built .308 that I took delivery of last week (pics once she's all kitted out). She sits in a Manners PRS1 and the Atlas I ordered was for picatinny rail (studs always looked/felt flimsy to me). Short Answer: As far as I can. That said, I agree I overlooked the mechanical center benefits in my thought process. (I just wanted as much usable elevation out of the scope as I could get).
