1 WEEK LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Thanks for the responses guys. I agree that being locked into one handguard sucks. I’m surprised to not have gotten a single recommendation on the Seekins as they market their upper as being super rigid at the handguard mounting point which lessens forces in the barrel nut when loading a...
I already have the barrel. It’s a RA match .223 Wylde 18” barrel that I bought 3-4 years ago and never used. I got heavily into bolt rifles shortly after that and am just now again getting interested in accurate ARs. So, I just need an upper receiver, handguard, gas block and tube. I have a...
I’m thinking about putting together a precision upper for my AR in .223, and I’m wondering which upper receiver is the better choice for the build. Right now I’m looking at the Vltor upper and the Seekins IRMT-3 upper. Is there a consensus on which is better for a precision application? I...
I get the dread of losing brass. I covet mine as if it were made of gold.
Thanks for the load and brass prep info. Every little bit helps.
Regarding bullet jump, check out the latest PRB write up on the subject. Lots of data and analysis that makes a pretty strong case on how far to jump...
The PRB is specifically the read that pushed me in the 6mm direction. I was going to do a straight 6.5X47, but after reading the article I decided to go 6mm considering the load help that the article provided.
You are correct. Based on feedback here I’m going 6X47. You guys have given me the confidence that finding a good load won’t be a problem. I’ll have it built in June when the annual bonus money shows up.
Are there any good write-ups on these scopes? For me it all comes down to tracking, glass and reticle. I’d like to hear some opinions. The thing about the S&Bs is that they’ve been making these things for a long time, and one thing is certain in manufacturing, when you have done it year after...
Great info, thank you for sharing.
What bullet are you shooting?
You mention zero jump, have you read this yet?

I’m interested in having a rifle built in 6X47 Lapua for shooting steel out to 1200, and possibly PRS style shooting at some point. I mentioned this intent to a buddy of mine who shoots PRS and NRL, and he commented that he’s been told that it can be finicky to load. Has anyone here loaded for...
