    Good to know, thanks. I've never tested with the gaps fully aligned but it does make sense that when you put the bolt in the carrier, Because the rings are compressed, there is no gap

It takes less gas pressure to extract the spent around then it does to provide enough force to carry the bolt carrier all the way back to strip a new round out of the magazine.     I vote that it's a gas block alignment issue. If the gas block is perfectly aligned, then maybe a gas port issue in your barrel. Not big enough?? I have had many barrels built in 308 and If you were to talk to Krieger barrels they would tell you that 20 inches is the lowest they would recomend...

    Nice build. I like the black krieger gas block. The balance on mine is good. Even though it has the bigass 26" bull barrel, the Bobro bipod having the legs a couple extra inches closer the bore helps it not be too " front heavy". Heavy gun though but I am a heavy guy. :)
