    Terminus Actions

The pull weight of the trigger has no relation to the bolt lift weight. Bolt lift weight is a function of the cocking piece moving up the the cocking ramp which is retracting the firing pin assembly/compressing the firing pin spring. Although not clear on what you mean by the firing pin...

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

It looks like you plan on using a flat head screw by countersinking the screw recess. KRG designed their chassis to adjust magazine fit by movement of the forend and trigger guard a small amount each to allow fine tuning of magazine fit. Since the countersunk screw on the trigger guard will no...

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

It's a pretty easy fix with a mill. Just need to inlet the aluminum backbone and trigger guard screw as shown on my KRG Bravo. Also a little inletting just in front of the rear action screw. I also milled down the trigger guard front set screw. The Dremel "inletting" on the right side below...

    Gunsmithing Savage Barrels

I doubt they use a die to thread their barrels. There's no way to accurately cut the threads concentric with the bore since a die registers from the OD of the barrel shank. You might be seeing crystal remnants from the exterior phosphate treatment that wick into the threads.

    Gunsmithing My first rifle,

Gotta say I've never heard of a reamer being "too sharp". If the reamer is chattering, it usually means the bushing is undersized. It could be a mis-cut reamer where one cutting edge is cutting more than the others, or the primary cutting angle is too shallow. As an outlier, I'm sure you...

Cheap Lathe for Practice Threading & Chambering

Completely agree with everything . . . except 3-phase. A Variable Frequency Drive will convert single phase to 3 phase. Inexpensive, easy to set up and most will allow programming such as spin up/down time.

Gap in muzzle after mounting Sidewinder Brake

Measure from the shoulder of the muzzle threading to the front of the muzzle. The Area419 adapter can only take about .650" of threads before it bottoms out. Your muzzle looks like it has an exceptionally long thread gutter (unthreaded portion between the threads and the shoulder). Edit - I...

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

I'll leave the semantics to professional machinists, but I'd say the tool is a surface grinder, the process in this instance is cylindrical grinding. So if it helps, you can say it's cylindrical grinding using a surface grinder. Surface isn't limited to flat.

It's a BEMA Maschinen FSM 260, a German machine. The screen shots were from Stefen Gotteswinter's YouTube channel. He was grinding a bevel on the spindle of a tube micrometer to be used specifically for case neck thickness measurements. Many micrometers have a carbide tipped spindle that...

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

Actually, he's right. It's how precision gage pins are made. Part is held in a rotating fixture then turned as grinder wheel spins. I think he was being factious - it'd be ridiculous way to sleeve a bolt and to bring this back to topic, there's nothing wrong with the CDG's bolt to body...

    Barrel shoulder and brake

This edge - right? Since it doesn't contact anything you can take a file to it and soften the edge if it bothers you.

    Slow Proof 6.5prc prefit?

The Bergers are 10% below advertised speed and that is more than I would expect. If the Hornady match ammo is shooting only 65 fps below advertised on a relatively fresh barrel (2845 fps is only 2.2% below 2910 fps), I don't think it's the barrel. If you're not getting high pressure signs, SD...

    Barrel shoulder and brake

That's an odd "step" between the OD of the muzzle and the OD of the barrel. It does appear to match the OD of the brake. Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it. That radius doesn't look sharp and it serves no shouldering purpose so in the even you did ding it, it would only be cosmetic.

Gotta say the name is clunky. I'm all for a creative name, but that particular expression seems an odd choice, ripe for wide interpretation. Carroll Shelby famously said about naming of the GT350, "The name wouldn’t make the car, and if it is a bad car, the name won’t save it.” If you're...

Gunsmithing Chamber (Throat) Finish, Poor Accuracy - See Pics

In post #2 those photos show some severe circumferential gouges. In my opinion, there's no fixing that. At best have someone set the chamber back, but they may have to cut the entire tenon off. The muzzle looks fine. Edit - Just reread that this is a Proof CF barrel. Likely not enough...

    Proof Research Stainless Barrel Performance

Proof prefits are excellent quality. You won't be disadvantaged in any way vs any other prefit. As far as your concern over "thermal drift", what you attribute to "thermal drift" I suspect is just normal shot dispersion. A thin profile/contour barrel will definitely heat up faster than a...
