    Suppressors Form 4 wait time

I have heard that some Texas dealers are saying they're getting Form 4 approvals in ~4 months using the e-form system. The Form 3's that we've had done on eforms are taking 6 weeks.

I shortened my original post. All feedback is appreciated.

Rifle Scopes 300 BLK Scope + Mini Holographic recs for a self-proclaimed "Magnification Whore"

This is pretty much along the lines of what I had in mind when starting the thread, but I wanted to see what others what said first. I don't think I did a very good job describing the magnification/power range I was looking for by using "10x" and things of that nature. Steiner 3-12x56 or...

Rifle Scopes 300 BLK Scope + Mini Holographic recs for a self-proclaimed "Magnification Whore"

I should clarify. I meant to say 10 power, not meaning to say 10x magnification. HUGE difference between 10 power (which could be a 2.5-10.....which is 4x magnification) and saying 10x which would be a 1-10 scope.

Rifle Scopes 300 BLK Scope + Mini Holographic recs for a self-proclaimed "Magnification Whore"

Edit: I'm simplifying this in an effort to get more responses. I have a 300 Blackout that will be used mainly for hog hunting and some whitetail hunting. I realize nobody really needs anything more than a 4 power scope for this cartridge, but I am a magnification whore and want more...

Load development advice for my .308 - What's the next step?

Here's a pic of a 300 yard target from a few months ago with the FGMM 175gr. This is the benchmark for what will be considered worst case for the hand loads.

Load development advice for my .308 - What's the next step?

I find it interesting that different charge weights cause the POI to shift around the center, yet some of them still group well at their particular POI and some do not. It seems to me that as you went up in powder, using the same bullet, said bullet POI would go higher and higher as the bullet...

Load development advice for my .308 - What's the next step?

This is great news. Sounds like I don't really have any more searching to do for OCW, and I can start loading and shooting. I'll probably do the ladder and OCW test just for grins, but nice to know I can run with 44.6 gr for now. Time to shoot some real groups and see what she (and I) can do...

Load development advice for my .308 - What's the next step?

Thanks, but they're only 3 round groups, so they don't count for anything. I understand about the temperature difference effecting the powder. I was asking why I would use the lower charge weight just because they're in the 2700 - 2750 fps range. Is that considered an optimal velocity for the...

Load development advice for my .308 - What's the next step?

I have a Magnetospeed that I haven't used yet, but plan on using on the next range trip. I'll post the results. What is the ratio? I do get what you're saying though about probably not needing to go to the higher end at 45.0 grains if I'm already getting 2700 - 2750 fps at the lower charge...

Would you mind elaborating on that to help me understand why? Thanks for the response.

Load development advice for my .308 - What's the next step?

Ha! Right! It'll never be "good" enough will it?!?!? But that's what drives the obsession. Thanks for the input. Btw, which charge weight/weights do you think are looking the "best" right now? I know I can get consistent .5 MOA out of this rifle at the very least with a solid load, and...

Load development advice for my .308 - What's the next step?

Thank you in advance to anyone that reads through all of my post and provides insight and advice. I do appreciate it and place a high value on the knowledge I gain from this website. I am new to reloading and relatively new to long range shooting, and this is the first load development I...

Major differences between 300 Win Mag and 300 WSM?

I had a 300 WSM built that I'm waiting to get any day now. Was telling a buddy about it on Friday and he asked why i went with WSM over Win Mag. I told him because my gunsmith recommended it mainly. It's my first custom, and I trust the 'smith's opinion. Thanks for helping answer my questions.

Opinions on CMMG parts and rifles?

I just built out my first lower this weekend, and I used one of their LPK's. No complaints there. Everything fit into the hole it was designed for. The mil-spec trigger sucks, but then again, I'm a bit of a trigger snob. Just shot it yesterday and had no problems. Time will tell if the...

Anybody able to shed any light on this Trigger?

Looks completely impractical and really damn expensive (based on what I've "heard") for being able to shoot "full auto" a few times. Also looks to be a helluva lot of fun for those that have never shot full auto (me)! And how in the hell can that thing be legal?!?!?

    First Post...be gentle.

I agree with just shooting what you have to get back into the groove, and then making some decision from there. Sounds like your optics work well enough for you, so there's no "need" for a change, but if you "wanted" to upgrade, there are a lot of affordable scopes that can be had in the...

Major differences between 300 Win Mag and 300 WSM?

I tried searching this, but I couldn't find anything/and or figure out how to get very many results with "300 Win Mag 300 WSM". If there are already threads on this, please point me in that direction. If not, then I'm curious as to what are the differences in the two besides the obvious...

    Custom Reloads of Dallas

He should get somebody to help him out, even somebody part-time, on the business side of it. Even if all they did was come in the last part of the day and pack and ship stuff out. Chad was very helpful to me, and you say he knows his stuff when it comes to loading. That's all great, but if...

Where to start with a custom rifle build?

I'm class of '00. I don't know a whole lot about the TAC21 chassis, but I do know I really like my AICS 1.5's. I prefer an actual pistol grip, so I put the Victor Viperskins on, and there's even a ridge on which to rest your thumb. You can typically find a used AICS 1.5 on the Options and...
