    I think it's hard enough trying to get a nice 5 shot group, and keep the fliers at bay... That 10 shot group seems pretty good for a budget rifle to me for sure!

    What trigger for my R700?

    I'm wanting to replace my factory trigger on my Remington 700. This is on a Remington SPS Tactical in .308 with an XLR Carbon Chassis, and a Vortex 6-24X50 FFP. I'll be shooting off a bench mostly with some prone, around 300 to 600 yards, using reloads, at paper targets. Looking for 2 pounds...

    I've tried only one box of factory ammo, I'm pretty sure it was Hornady 168 gr, about the same results.... Eye relief is about 3-1/2" and I have not backed off the power at all. It seems fine for me.

    So I still want to try the same powder charge that worked best right, then try other seating depths with that charge correct? Or could changing seating depth open up another variable, where now I'll have to find the best charge for that depth?
