Advanced Marksmanship Wits end with AI /Jim Hart .308

This jack wagon probably got a 1 in a billion rifle barrel and took 56 days to clean the accuracy right out of it. We may never know.....

    Gun Case?

Yes, I’d agree. I don’t baby that case either. It’s usually thrown in the back of my pickup and the wheels are nice for rolling in the back. That rifle is 15.5lbs. You wouldn’t have an issue with a 20lb rifle as long as you cut the foam right.

    Gun Case?

Pelican Storm IM3300. I’ve got 3 of them and they’re worth the cost. You can’t go wrong. They definitely are not 5–600. I usually wait for sales and can pick them up for 200-220.

    Re 17, DTAC'S, 6 Creedmoor

I’ve been using H4831sc for two barrels now shooting 110smks on the first and DTACs on the 2nd. I’ve had good luck with both combinations.

Barrel speeding up, carbon rings, chasing lands, 6 Creedmoor

Thanks for the help guys. I’d have to agree about using bronze brushes. I bought into the barrel damaging rhetoric and the only difference I see in using nylon brushes is that it takes twice as long to do a shitty barrel cleaning job. I hate to admit that is probably the majority of my issue...

Barrel speeding up, carbon rings, chasing lands, 6 Creedmoor

3 firings on ADG brass. I anneal every other loading. I run Redding Type S bushing dies with .002” neck tension. No variations on seating depth which tells me the consistency is good.

Barrel speeding up, carbon rings, chasing lands, 6 Creedmoor

About the time I think I‘ve got shooting/reloading figured out, I come across something else that make me scratch my head. I occasionally shoot competitively and reload for multiple rifles. My rifles generally shoot 1/2 minute groups and I don’t normally spend much time doing load development...

    Building the Perfect Reloading Room

If anyone is interested, I’d have no problem helping them out. I have a few other pictures in the build process but not near enough for a proper tutorial. Maybe someday I could even build a few on the side.

    New Kestrel® HUD and Kestrel® Ballistics 2700

I’d like to play with one of these before dropping the $$$. I could see how it may not be any better than a pen and paper but I could be completely wrong. I’d love to see something that I could input yardages on a preset profile and it could quickly display DOPE on an HUD type of set up. While...

Help to fix a barrel that was cut wrong (can it be?)

Sorry to hear about your experience. I’d say the best bet is to fix it right. Even if you have to pay to set it back and rechamber, the confidence that you’d have in your rifle is worth it. If you ever had an accuracy issue somewhere, you’d find yourself blaming the half-assed chamber job. For...

Noreen expands ELR rifle offerings with "ELR Bolt Action Rifle"

Threads like this more so much more useful than others. It’s never easy to ”buck the system” when things don’t go as they should so I appreciate that there’s still people out there willing to share their experiences despite the kickback.
