Re: shooting matt Once again.... thanks guys. Have searched and found this and a few other threads/comments helping me on what you like and don't like. Have never used one but am about to pick up one of these and see how it works out. Not too pricey but seems like a decent one. Been...
Re: replacing bolt handle on Savage 10 PC ?? Yea... have seen a few of the camo-skull ones. I love those things. I may have to try my hand at it.... I have a couple of Iwata airbrushes and I use to paint motorcycles, so I could bust out the templates and give it a try. Those are some...
Re: replacing bolt handle on Savage 10 PC ?? Axeman, After getting it back from the bbl being threaded, it will be totally stripped and DuraCoated. Combat Black for accent parts and internals with the SL formula.... and their tactical ultra flat OD green for rec and bbl. Not sure about...

Re: replacing bolt handle on Savage 10 PC ?? Sorry for all the confusion.. I thought that they were all "Kevin Rayhill" handles and these were just two different companies that carried different styles of them. Again, sorry for confusion, I am learning the ropes here... Here is a pic...
Re: replacing bolt handle on Savage 10 PC ?? Don't know what I'd take a picture of exactly. It appears ok, but the action is just horribly way too tight and "clunky" feeling when working the action. Got it from Sharp Shooter Supply. They were extremely nice, I don't anticipate any...
Re: replacing bolt handle on Savage 10 PC ?? Holy Cow, this thing is horrible. Looks decent on the handle end. Doesn't match up smoothly with the lines on the bolt end like the factory one. I could deal with that. I have taken it off and put it on THREEE times now in hopes there was a...
Re: duracoat I have coated quite a few weapons over the past year. All are wearing excellent! Or should I say "not wearing". The folks at Lauer Weaponry are great to deal with, I have talked to their techs several times and this summer will be DuraCoating a CJ5! I can't wait!! Prep Prep...
Re: replacing bolt handle on Savage 10 PC ?? Thanks everyone! My new bolt handle came in today. Although I like the look, it seems it will not follow the lines where it attaches to the bolt as smooth as the factory one. We'll see how I like the look / feel once it's on there.
Re: Savage Precision Carbine Just got mine in Friday! I have owned several Savages over the years with no gripes at all. Very accurate out of the box and many fellow hunters ended up buying one from me after exposure to mine. My 10PC came in and I have to say, I am more fired up about...
Re: replacing bolt handle on Savage 10 PC ?? OMG I feel like an idiot now. LOL Oh well.... at least I got a laugh out of it. Thanks. Yes, once decocked the allen socket magically appears. Thanks!
Most Savage bolts I have seen have an allen wrench socket in the rear to disassemble.... Just got in my new 10 Precision Carbine and it's not there. Seems to be a shiny silver "button" back there instead. Have done a little searching but haven't found anything yet. Have a Kevin Rayhill...
Re: Remington SPS Tactical : Factory Ammo Test Thanks for taking the time to do that. I am looking at another 308 bolt gun now. Finally settled on the scope and the SPS 20" is one of the rifles I have been eyeballing. Are these groups at 100 meters?? I didn't see distance in there...
Re: Selling Steyr, buying new 20" - help appreciated That's it? nobody else has either the Rem 700 SPS Tactical or the Savage 20" that can lean me one way or another?
Hey, I know it's not a GAP but surely there are a few Steyr SSG owners out there that can post accuracy results and maybe some pics of targets? Even of your rifle would be cool, just curious how accurate your rifles are. Thanks!
Re: Selling Steyr, buying new 20" - help appreciated Not really.... just didn't have any experience w/ one. Perhaps I should include it in possibilities?
I don't post much here but read a lot and thank you all for the info you share. Thanks ahead of time for help here too. Have searched on some things such as triggers, etc but figured I would ask in a single thread too. Okay... long story short I am going to sell my Steyr SSG PIIK w/ double...
Re: Volquartsen triggers. Put a Volquartsen trigger group in mine and like others have stated.... was a bit disappointed. I've not had the pleasure to shoot one with the KIDD trigger so can't comment there. Mine is fine NOW.... after I disassembled and fixed it, but for that kinda money...
Re: 10/22-t or K10/22-t...how do you like it? Have a bone stock SS 10/22 and then there is the one I shoot all the time... Tactical Solutions bbl with my AA suppressor< Volquartsen trigger group and a Hogue overmolded stock. Prolly my favorite rifle to shoot of them all
Re: Steyr SBS opinions please Have owned several over the years and sold many as well. No complaints from anyone that I remember and I thoroughly enjoyed mine. Not sure how I ended up without one in my safe right now, to be honest. My favorite was my 25-06.
