    224 predator

    I would find someone who has a little more experience with the cartridge. 28.5gr 8208 62gr Fusion 2.085 OAL-3195fps ave 5/8" groups 29.7gr 8208 55gr Nos BT 2.137 OAL-3366fps 1/2 & 5/8" groups 30gr CFE-80gr Berger 2.245 OAL -2990fps

    224 predator

Sounds like you used the wrong powder. Several have posted on other blogs that they are getting 3050-3100 with the 80gr Amax using 2520, CFE and Lever.

    6mmAR/243LBC performance

2750-2800. you lose 20-25fps/inch of barrel.

    Good brake for 5/8x24 5.56?

Yeah, there's a reason the barrels are threaded 5/8-24 and we sell the crap out of them.

    Good brake for 5/8x24 5.56?

Ever wonder why most 5.56 barrels spray 55gr bullets? The groove is .224. The land to land should be .218. Take a .219" inspection pin and slide it into the muzzle of your barrel. Why will a .219 pin fit in a barrel that should be .218"? Does it stop 3/4" in? WHY? Why are barrels with a...

Tips and secrets for increasing the accuracy in an ar15

I agree, banning Wes was kind of childish. Surefire is well known to have the least amount of shift. That was the hint.

opinions, everyone has one, and I want to hear it.

Opinions Hornady Creedmoor is accurate but the brass is soft and wont last long. Bolt gun will be easier to shoot accurately at long range for most people. Bolt gun will be cheaper. Savage with a after market trigger and barrel will still cost less than $1500 Shoot 155s out of the 308 or...

    AR tight throat, need help!

If the scuffs are all the way around the freebore is smaller than .224 and should be returned and re-throated. If there are only 4-6 square marks the bullets are jammed into the lands. Either set them back or send it back to be re-throated. Anyone with a .223 Wylde reamer could fix it. You...

6x47 Lapua in a lightweight semi rifle

A 95 at 3200fps is just about max from a 22" BRX using N550. A 105 would probably drop to around 3000. 35.5Re17 will push a 105 Amax to 3040. The Gen 1 PRI 6.8 mags with the rounded front feed lips are the only ones that work without some tweaking. Try bending the mag spring front loop up to...

6x47 Lapua in a lightweight semi rifle

Are you saying all semi autos or AR10s? I understand they aren't going to be as accurate as my AICS. I keep getting calls from guys who think a semi may give them an advantage on some courses. I've sold a bunch of 6BRX barrels for AR15s, the 6x47 is almost 200fps faster.

6x47 Lapua in a lightweight semi rifle

A Creedmoor has the same shoulder angle and Hornady cases wont last near as long as Lapua. We're getting as few as 5 loading off the Hornady stuff and closer to 15 on the Lapua. Yes, we're using large framed ARs.

6x47 Lapua in a lightweight semi rifle

Would the 6-6.5x47 Lapua have a chance as a competition rifle if the rifle weighed 4-5oz more than a comparable AR15? Meaning if an AR15 had the same length and profile barrel. It should push 105 Bergers to 3050-3100 fairly easily.

    AR bolt wont lock open

^^This. If the brass is being tossed straight to the right or 4-5 O clock it is more than likely under-gassed or gas block mis aligned. If the brass is being tossed forward of the ejection port it could be over-gassed and causing the carrier to bounce off the buffer but it would need to be WAY...

    Another barrel recommendation

They are ER Shaw made barrels. Can be pretty accurate for a production barrel, as accurate as RRA ,BHW, Rock Creek, Criterion or Lothar. Better than YHM or Stoner or any chrome lined barrel IMO. Probably not as accurate as WOA,definitely not as accurate as Krieger cut rifled.

    6.5 Grendel v .300 Blackout

The thing is I must stand behind the advice I give. I can't do like LRR does and say there are 65 bullets that you can kill big game animals at 465 yds with a Grendel. No ones going to call him up and say "hey that bullet didn't expand and the biggest deer I have ever seen ran off and wasn't...

    6.5 Grendel v .300 Blackout

I think thats what I said. They don't open the way they were designed to do in a 260. The GS bullets BCs are highly exaggerated and very tough to get great accuracy out of. Faster than normal powders must be used and most need to be jammed into the lands. The small drive bands are the only...

    6.5 Grendel v .300 Blackout

I have no idea where you got the photo but it was on arfcom years ago. I said the same thing then... The 120 TSX will not expand properly out of the Grendel. Remember that little exchange?

    6.5 Grendel v .300 Blackout

If it tumbles. Bill Waites posted a photo of a 120TSX recovered from a deer. The tip had expanded to apx 1/4" dia...roughly the same dia as the body of the bullet. I have no idea what stopped the bullet. Except for the tip it looked perfect. I've seen little 85gr TSXs pass through hogs end to...

    6.5 Grendel v .300 Blackout

Assuming! Most .264 bullets were designed for the 260 Rem and will not expand at the slower velocities the Grendel pushes them to especially in a SBR. The 120 TSX is a great bullet in a 260 but it is a poor choice in the Grendel because they do not expand. Sure they'll penetrate like no...

    6.5 Grendel v .300 Blackout

If I was looking for a subsonic suppressed SBR I would choose the 300 AAC for sure. If looking for a target rifle and choosing between these 2 I would choose a 264LBC over the Grendel. Hunting or combat I would choose the 6.8. 3 gun, a 5.56.
