I tried this and I tried that. After inconsistent processed brass, ruined brass, and headaches I finally dropped the $$ on a Dillon Super Swage. Should have done it along time ago.
Lol! Wouldn't be my choice of powder but if it's all a guy has. Really like the IMR 8208 XBR or Benchmark with the lighter pills in a 12 twist barrel. H335 is my go to powder for bulk loading 55gr. FMJ's to spit out of the AR's. Still an old classic powder preferred by many. apapig, load...
Bolt gun? AR platform? Either way 24.0gr. is a good starting point. Not a lot of powder being used so take the time to do it correctly and safely. You'll have more leeway in a bolt rifle but I'm guessing you already know that.
I've shot a lot of factory seconds from Nosler. I pick them up if they're available if I happen to be there at the plants proshop. Shot 2nds. from .20 cal up to .30 cal in various bullet configuration. Can't say I notice much difference or had any issues with them. Nosler sells the 2nds...
I knew what you were getting at. I agree 100% with you. I've seen them. They're only on my small caliber rifles that the kids shoot mostly. I'm a Leupold guy. Just can't afford to have one on every firearm. Plus the fact they're an hour down the road right here in Oregon is helpful.
There are plenty of refurbs out there. I avoid them and the retail tables. Mine have came from private good ole boys tables that have mostly old reloading gear, overpriced brass, .22 ammo that's 30+ yrs. old that they want $40 a brick, and other odd ball items. The guys that do it because...
I keep finding the older Buckmaster AO scopes at gun shows for cheap. Just bought a 6-18x40 for $125 w/target turrets two weekends ago at the last show. He was asking $140. Not a scratch on it. Got a couple 4.5x14's also. I think the world of the Nikon lower line of scopes. Best bang for...

Re: Camo ? for coyote hunters Bottom line is that you have to wear something. I've seen a lot of dogs taken by people in blue jeans and a camo coat at best. Minimize any movement and always keep the wind in your face. Cover scents are overrate in IMO when it comes to dog hunting. The are...

Re: Deer Load with 75g vmax. I couldn't get varget to group with my .243 so I went with 43gr. of H380 in front of the 75gr. V-Max, CCI LR with consistant 1" groups out of a 22" medium contour barrel. Average of 3264 fps. Not Lapua brass, just standard winchester so the info I've provided...
