F T/R Competition Increasing Competitor Numbers?

Re: Increasing Competitor Numbers? This year we have 11 people shooting F/TR and 12 in FO at our club. Numbers fluctuate between 20+ to 30 shooters. Four years ago when I first started shooting there we had maybe 12-15 people total showing up.

F T/R Competition Raking my brain on this F-class shooting thing....

Re: Raking my brain on this F-class shooting thing.... I don't know if it really helps or if it's all in my head, but I usually bring a couple hand towels with me to cover my ammo and barrel between strings when it's really hot out to keep the sun off them. A pen, clip board, sun screen, bug...

Suppressors Trying to decide, Kimber or Springfield 4 inch

Re: Trying to decide, Kimber or Springfield 4 inch The EMP is the only SA 1911 I have personal experience with, but I've been quite impressed with it. It has run 100% since day one, now on about 800+ rounds in it. Even after digesting 200rds of reloads using a 120gr Cast lead TC bullet with...

Going against an AR15 with a bolt gun

Re: Going against an AR15 with a bolt gun Um, so what's the point again? You'd be more likely to be engaging an enemy with an AK than an AR anyway. (I hope) Are you asking how far away you would be "safe" and still engage him with the 7.62 bolt gun? If that's the case it's a moot point...

    Got ripped off!!

Re: Got ripped off!! Karma will get those motherfuckers bro. You SHOULD be able to leave some stuff in your truck without some little POS stealing it. There isn't much lower than a thief. Since I'm also stuck living in town for a while and I have a lot of expensive gear I installed cameras...

Rifle Scopes Burris SS and 0 moa base issue

OK, I have a Rem 700 SPS (26") in an HSP stock. I'm using a Burris Signature Select 6-24X44. When I was using the regular two piece Warne bases I had plenty of adjustment to go out to 600 yards. With the Warne rail mount (0 moa) I don't even have enough elevation to get a 168gr SMK at 2700fps...

    Suppressors XD .45 Range Report

Just a range report I wrote up on the XD .45 Service a few weeks ago, thought maybe some Hide members would be interested. Well, as usual here in northern NY it was nice all week and the weather turned to shit for the weekend. It was a balmy 44 degrees, windy as hell, and pissing rain today...

    Power Case Trimmer

Re: Power Case Trimmer I have the RCBS unit and I like it a lot. Sure as hell beats the snot out of cranking on a handle all night. I load for 8 different caliber and it's pretty quick to change the trim length if you keep a sample piece of brass to index off of. I know there are better...

Gunsmithing Canjar trigger on new 700 SPS?

OK, so today when I ordered my HS precision stock for my 700 I picked up this old Canjar trigger. I REALLY do not like the X-mark trigger that came with rifle. Anyway, my stock will be here Tuesday and I was going to see if this trigger would work in my rifle. I just don't have any idea if...

    Zero Distance for 308

Re: Zero Distance for 308 I zero mine at 150, set the zero stop there, and use the mil dots for anything closer. But almost ALL of my shooting is done between 150 and 430 yards.
