    New Skins for AICS stock

Re: New Skins for AICS stock IMO these will be a great alternative to the not-so-pretty AX AICS. Its a nice balance of pistol grip and the AICS platform. Can have the same feel of the AX without all the unnecessary rails/tube/vents/kitchen sink that comes on the AX. Would love to try a set...

Pulled out the old J.C. Higgins 103.228

Re: Pulled out the old J.C. Higgins 103.228 Bipods are fine for a front rest if you are shooting off of bench. I use mine all the time. In regards to your trigger...depending on just how long the trigger pull is, you could be pulling your shots. Generally a short light trigger helps to...

    carbon fiber skins?

Re: carbon fiber skins? I was just thinking of options for a different look. It will mostly be a range rifle, I have no need to be invisible in the bushes or grass. Some people use paint schemes, some do camo, why not a carbon fiber look? I've no idea on what the cost would be, just an idea...

    carbon fiber skins?

I am looking at doing a build on an AICS. What I was wondering is if anybody knows a shop that does custom carbon fiber fabrication. I was looking to have the skins of an AICS replicated for a direct replacement on the chassis. Would give it a different look. Does anybody know a shop that...

Savage MK II "E" type receiver ??

Hey everybody, I am looking at buying a Savage MKII FV and have noticed some talking about this model in an E type receiver and a non-E type receiver. But I was unable to find out exactly what the difference is between the two. I will most likely be looking to but the barreled action into one...

    .22LR trainer and .308 build

Re: .22LR trainer and .308 build I was looking at the Tacticool from Boyds but at the bottom of the webpage I noticed that it said: "The Savage MKII and MKI actions will also fit in these stocks but barrel channel may have gaps and additional hardware may need to be purchased from Savage to...

    Step One: Complete

Re: Step One: Complete nice looking rifle, but I think you might need to move the scope back a little, unless you got some buggy eyeballs. Have fun with it. Still saving for mine. Post some groups when you get them

    .22LR trainer and .308 build

Re: .22LR trainer and .308 build Thanks for the replies. ORD - I haven't been behind an AICS yet, but plan to do so before I ever build on one. I do, however, find that thumbhole style on some factory rifles suits me just fine. I haven't built the .308 yet due to the lack of funds that...

    .22LR trainer and .308 build

I am looking to build a .308win in about a year or so and am planning to put it into and AICS (most likely a 2.0). In the meantime I am planning on buying a good .22LR as a trainer and was thinking of a Savage Mark II FV. However, I need some advice as to whether I should be looking for a...

    My el-cheap-o 1200-1400 yard target

Re: My el-cheap-o 1200-1400 yard target I wish I could find a place to shoot even up to 600yds. Lucky to have the space. Good looking target. Shouldn't tip at that range. If for some reason it does, a couple rocks around the legs should fix that right up!

Whats this sound like to you?

Re: Whats this sound like to you? definitely check the rings. One of my hunting rifles did the same thing. One of my rings was actually cracked, but you couldn't see the crack until the scope was out of it. Mind you it was an older rifle with older rings.
